Love was great yesterday. Lights out the first half. Unstoppable with a clean pocket. I’m not sure how any debate around this guy still exists. We did it again.

He wasn’t perfect by any means, and needs to take what is given more and use his legs. But when he had more than 2 seconds to throw he dropped dimes all night. I’m so thankful our organization knows he’s the future. We have a guy capable of bringing us to the Super Bowl.

If Jayden Reed doesn’t drop a wide open catch – or if Watson can time his jump better – or if we don’t get a delay of game after a timeout – or if we didn’t waste our timeouts, etc. etc. etc. – Love bails out the entire team. He bails out McManus, he bails out LaFleur, he bails out Rasheed Walker, he bails out Hafley allowing 25 points in one quarter, he bails out every excuse under the sun.

Yesterday sucks for 100 reasons. I could write 6000 words about everything wrong with this team but there’s other posts already hitting those points.

I think Jordan as a talent, is as good as they come. However, he does need to improve as a leader. Especially in game. If a coaching change is required to take our Star QB to the next level as a leader, it is time.

Everything has to revolve around Jordan Love, whether you like it or not. He is paid to be our most important and critical asset and he is.

We have a great one and I’m excited to see where he can take us. I just hope we give him the pieces to get there.

  1. The roster is solid. They just need better depth on oline and for ST and another pass rush threat imo.

  2. If you told me before the game that Love would have 323 yards 4 TDs and 0 picks and we would lose I would tell you to fuck off. Yet it still happened MLF just got completely outcoached. Also Caleb Williams was horrendous for 3 quarters and people are saying he is better than Love. Crazy.

  3. Can’t believe I’m still seeing posts about him being “not the guy”. 4 TDs, 0 int in the playoffs makes you the guy.

  4. Mahomes is special, Allen is special, Burrow is special. Love is a good QB that is capable of winning but not special. Special QBs don’t consistently allow the offense to collapse in second half of games. Yes, LeFleur lame approach to playing with a lead has a lot to do with it but special QBs win in spite of inept head coaches.

  5. Jordan showed emotion last night. I think even he’s tired of the bs. Dropped balls and just bad coaching. What a wasted game.

  6. When he is in control he is elite.

When it crunch time and he has to claw out heroball comes out and we see some ugly stuff too.

Man is a very good qb, not yet sold on elite.

  7. He played amazing, half of his incompletions were dropped passes, throw aways, or the receivers getting the ball knocked out of their hands.

  8. He balled. Coaching put him in a tough position out of the half. Still hit multiple big shots in the second half to secure first down yardage along with the TD to Golden (crazy YAC play for the rookie tho). Would have had three or four more if his receivers weren’t covered in motor oil

  9. “It’s one thing to play well and make throws and make plays, but it’s another thing to lead your team to wins.” – Gutey discussing the transition from Aaron to Jordan (2023).

Leading your team to wins not putting up stats is what makes a player special.

  10. Love is a blessing! We always trumpet how young our team is, which is great and all but need some seasoned vets who have been there and know how to handle pressure in playoff games. Like our kicker ugh!!!!!

  11. I just like we’re still a relevant team and we got a bears rivalry building up it’s fine we got the best pieces to make a good run next season we’ll be fine honestly. Any wait to get Micah back and Kraft and see if we can make it interesting again

  12. 2 red flags last night.

Zero mobility in extending the play by escaping the pocket or just scrambling and making the defense account for that aspect.

Not being able to audible to a play to beat the blitz for multiple drives. He has been in the system since the beginning and he should know exactly what to call.

  13. Saint fan here. I love Jordan Love (no pun intended)

He is clearly an elite QB but MLF just seems to want him to be more of a traditional point guard like Steve Nash, instead of the scoring PG like Steph Curry he can be

  14. “If my grandma had wheels..” ve damned, but I really believe we were on going to score on that last drive had Reed caught the ball. I think that killed the momentum, and Rhyan getting hurt compounded it. Love looked very calm and composed. Even after the final snap fumble, he quickly got his eyes down the field and seemed level-headed.

  15. I 100% believe Love played through a concussion the second half. The way no players were near him on the bench, he was just staring off at nothing most of the half. At one point LaFleur knelt down and had a face to face with him. The guy went from insanely good to not being able to make a throw for like 5 drives, that just doesn’t happen because of Bears “adjustments” or bad play calls.

  16. I mean J love had 2.8 seconds to throw which wouldve been 7th in the nfl. The line really wasn’t as much as an issue as everyone is saying

  17. The spectrum is Too Calm —— Tom Brady, in terms of expressing feelings. We need him to get a little further towards the Brady side. He’s too far on the calm side right now

  18. Any dissenting opinion that isn’t all in for J.Love gets downvoted because it’s pessimistic. MLF is the sole scapegoat around the sub today and there’s definitely a lot of blame to go his way. Maybe he needs to go, maybe not. But acting like J.Love shows any sliver of star potential out there; you’re just lying to yourself. Yeah I get there’s insecurity of “not having your guy” at QB, but people aren’t being realistic.

To be fair Love is not a bad QB. With an elite defense, a run game, and good player caller, he can go on a deep playoff run. It looks like he’s peaked somewhere around a middle of the pack NFL QB. He’s got a very strong arm, and can make all of the NFL throws. He’s a stable presence that doesn’t ruffle any feathers and has his head on his shoulders, but that all of the praise I have.

Jordan Love is not a team leader and cannot create after the snap. Love is meek. I’ve been waiting for him to mature and show some leadership, but we’ve seen him long enough. This is who he is. He looks meek on the sideline, meek in the huddle, and meek in the pocket. He even looks shy in interviews. He lacks urgency and fire and this is reflected in his play. Defenses do not fear Love. His demeanor is his most consistent quality. The fadeaway passes look cool when they work, but there’s a reason no other great QB is known for them, maybe outside the generational talent that is Mahomes. Love isn’t Mahomes. The fadeaways are a recipe for inconsistency. On top of that he shrinks under the lights every time, I can almost feel him getting smaller, the hesitations become more frequent, you can feel his indecision. The late game drives end in often baffling plays where you’re left asking yourself, “what the fuck was that?”.

Love can’t create outside of the schemed play. Star quarterbacks create opportunities. He doesn’t extend plays with his feet. He’s an inefficient scrambler with little burst. He doesn’t complete tight window throws (sitting around 20th in the league). He can only get what is schemed for him. Let look at last night, as I see everyone looking at the 4TD and 0INT stat line. How many TD throws were elite? Zero. The TD to Reed was a very nice throw, but nothing out of the ordinary. The TD to Watson was an easy drag over the middle. The TD to Doubs was wide open due to great execution by Doubs. The TD to Golden was all Golden.

There’s pessimism then there’s reality. And people just aren’t seeing the reality that Love has peaked at above average, not great. He lacks any qualities of the next level QBs who can lead, set the tone, and elevate their teams.

You can show me EPA and aDOT until the the cows come home, but I’m watching games calling it how I see it. If you disagree, what are you seeing that I’m not? What elite qualities has Jordan Love shown you? What significant growth have you seen from last year to this year? Do you really see this a guy as a leader? Why?
