It’s now official

  1. I haven’t watched a Wiz game in a little bit but we really need to change to these gold jerseys full time(if they haven’t already). They are so much more unique than the boring red, white, blue color scheme

  2. He looks so happy lol. Is it just me or does this move feel like it’s kinda got some immaculate vibes

  3. Trade is official and John Wall is on pre and postgame tonight at 6:30. Zion in town and Poole back in the building. This will be fun.

  4. Damn those are horrible. Our jerseys as a whole are horrible. The red , white , blue need to go

  5. I was never a huge Trae Young fan, but someone wanting to come here will always be a fan of that person.

  6. New chapter for him. Hopefully he can figure out what he can do to be a productive player for the next phase in his career. More importantly, hopefully we get atleast a top 4 pick in this draft.

  7. Extremely funny that unlike Arenas and Wall and even Jordan, Beal’s number got zero reverence in the franchise, despite he being paraded like a real franchise player and given an NTC for so long.

  8. The year of the tre(a) ball. (Assuming Trae young plays. I’m still of the belief he’s just gonna have a rehab year this year where he won’t play much before coming back in with heavier reps next year)

  9. The Wizards are retiring Wall’s jersey on the 29th, yet two players have already worn #3 since Beal’s departure. Despite Beal ranking second in franchise history for games played and total points, he hasn’t captured the city’s heart quite like Wall.

  10. Not a Wizards fan, but I’m so impressed by the moves this front office has made. Turning Bradley Beal (widely considered the worst contract in the league at the time) into Trae Young + FOUR first round draft pick swaps + SIX second round draft picks…. is really fucking good work!

I think adding Trae for the rest of this season and all of next season is a genius move (developmentally) to get better looks for guys like Sarr, Kyshawn, Bilal, Tre Johnson, Bub, and even Will Riley. Trae’s shitty defense means they’ll still lose enough games to keep their top-8 protected pick in this draft…. but his passing is irrefutably elite.

He’ll put all of those guys in better positions to develop offensively, and the short-roll and lob dunk opportunities Trae will open up for Sarr are going to be absolutely golden. The open shots young creates for Tre Johnson will be huge. The playmaking Trae can take off Kyshawn’s hands will be hugely beneficial, not detrimental.

It sounds a little harsh on Trae Young…. but I can’t think of a better player for a Wizards team that wants its young players to develop offensively, while ALSO losing enough games to have top-5 picks in the next two drafts.

    It sounds

  11. Wow loving these jerseys. Haven’t been keeping up with the team the last few years when did they bring these around?

  12. We’ll always love you Trae. Thanks for everything you did for the city. Good luck in Washington!
