[OC] It still hurts

  1. Football, and it’s tiny parity, is a lot more susceptible to random lucky bounces than other sports. Unless you have a team that goes an absolute god like tear (like last years Eagles), any team that can make the playoffs has a halfway decent shot of making a run. With Mahomes on the downswing of his career (especially post injury), there are no true god like QBs anymore (although Drake Maye may ascend). The field is WIDE open for anyone to win it all if they can put it together at playoff time and stay relatively healthy.

  2. Remember when our fans were saying we didn’t need to make real moves to improve our team after this because there was only one way for us to go? And remember when MCDC said we may never get back and some of you just shrugged it off? Yeah, this isn’t easy and the mentality some of you adopted is part of the reason Brad never felt the need to make major moves and look where we are 2 seasons later.

  3. What hurts me the most was the missed opportunity for a book end season where the teams who played the very first game of the season also played the last game of the season

  4. So then why are you posting it?

The 49ers are just better run than us at this point. They took multiple shots on trades, have been to two SBs in recent years, and are still in their window. Their coaches get it, and have modern, adaptable playstyles. I love DC, but he was horrible this year. Both in in-game decisions and his picks for coordinators. He’s just not on Shanahan’s level right now.

  5. The one thing we’ll never know on this play is if the refs leave the flag if it’s an incompletion or INT . It would have been a BS PI but I wouldn’t at all put it past the refs. So in the end, the doink off the facemask would have been irrelevant
