I know our record in the wildcard as of late has been hot trash, but seeing the entire nfl sub just assume the Texans are going to win and blasting anyone who suggest otherwise is just insane to me. I know the NFL sub can be a complete cancer at times but this is just ridiculous and I want to run through a wall to prove these guy wrong.

Here we go Steelers! Let’s silence the haters tonight at home!!

  1. Weather at game time is only going to help the Steelers, let alone their home MNF streak. Keep the faith & ignore idiots who overlook possibilities.

Look at Miami just this year in CFB… no one expected what they’ve done so far

  2. People in the comments might disagree but I agree with you, makes me mad they just assume we are gonna lose.

  3. Who cares. I’d much rather be viewed as an underdog vs favorite.

Funny to see all these clowns point towards the last two games of the season. One of these years people will learn that divisional games are different and should not be viewed in the same lens as other games. They’re always ugly/grimy games despite the records.

But yeah idc what they say. Pretty positive it’s going to come down to the last possession. Just depends on who can execute when it matters most.

  4. Texans scare me a whole lot more than the pats if we can get past this game i think we have a shot at the afccg

  5. Ppl had the ravens Texans slotted before our game last week. They just love to overlook us.

  6. We all know what is inevitably going to happen tomorrow night. I will be a loyal fan until the last whistle. Then I will see you all here and will scream for the change we all know is needed. Till then Go Steelers!

  7. What’s upsetting about it? The Steelers have been so wildly inconsistent and we’re only in the playoffs because of a missed field goal when we had the division handed to us on a silver platter.

Everyone that’s a die hard fan knows that we have a lot of areas where we need to improve on, and on paper are going to be the underdogs throughout the entirety of this playoff run because of it.

Maybe it’s personal bias, but if any team can overcome that doubt and show up, it’s the fucking Steelers. Let them talk shit, it will make wins so much sweeter, and at the end of the day, a loss isn’t as heartbreaking when we know we’re still trying to solidify a post-Ben identity.

Compare our situation to the panthers 2016 season— where they expected nothing but success and truly believed “it was their year.” Only for it to end in a devastating loss and a forever tarnished reputation for their franchise QB.

I fuckin love the Steelers and will always root for them, and this year has been fun as hell, I’m going in optimistic.

  8. Texans have the best defense in the league and multiple good receivers, on paper they’re a great team, it’s their coaching on the offense that makes them a weaker opponent. Steelers are excellently coached and have a great QB who can win any game, it’s just time to see.

  9. Let them think this honestly. When have we ever performed well when people think we’re going to? I would much rather have everyone think that this game is a lock for the texans than think it’s a lock for us.

  10. They’re 3 point favorites. Talking heads think the Texans are AFC champion favorites, but the spread indicates this is very winnable, even if Vegas doesn’t think we can get to the SB.

  11. I’m not gonna clutch my pearls because fans of other teams are counting out our wildly inconsistent football team against one of the better teams in the league.

  12. Naw guys this is the year! The curse ends with Rodger’s. We just gotta believe.

  13. Fuck with these armchair quarterbacks think or say. I prefer being the underdog that’s not being given any consideration. The players see it and it puts a chip on their shoulder.

  14. Steelers have lost every playoff game this decade by double digits. Why would anyone take them seriously? (Other than their opponent)

  15. None of the analysts have believed in the Steelers for years so it’s not surprising the general non-steeler fan sentiment is they’re not to be respected.

And tbh, why should they? The Steelers have not done anything remotely meaningful in over a decade and all our recent games are down to the wire against a bunch of non-playoff teams. The team has to win to change perceptions and many will just call it a fluke if we get blown out next week anyway.

Rodger’s has me optimistic too but our defense is one of the worst statistically ever for a playoff team. And the offense won’t score 30-40 if they need to.

  16. dude it is reddit

don’t take it seriously the whole place is pretty much a cesspool of idiocy and WRONG opinions and ideas

  17. The Standard is the Standard, and the standard’s been met, at >.500

    Don’t get greedy

  18. It’s the reality of how the rest of the NFL fans view the Steelers. Make playoffs, get blown out. Namely, go down by like 14-21 points almost immediately lol.

Until that trend is broken, nobody will rly care.

With that said, I don’t think the Texans have ever won a road playoff game, so somethings gotta give tonight.

  19. As a lifelong steeler fan I feel this is the year we finally win a playoff game. I’ve said said it a couple times, said it last year. But this year is the most confident I’ve been about it, the numbers may not say the full story, but Rodgers has been really good this season, sure he had a couple bad games in the beginning, but the last couple weeks he’s been playing some great ball, even with old ass practice squad recievers like Thielin and MVS. They’re way past what they were but Rodgers made them good enough. They came thru late when it mattered. Hopefully not with DK back this offense is rejuvenated

  20. It’s up to the Steelers themselves to change the narrative surrounding the team. If they don’t want to be viewed as a weak team which has a tendency to lose in embarrassing fashion, they should elevate their play and put these teams in the ground. The Steelers stereotype is ripe for change, hopefully they prove it wrong tonight.

  21. Save the energy for the game, my friend. People are entitled to have an opinion, you can’t shut everyone up. Go Steelers!
