Watching AJ Brown this season complain while winning and dropping multiple key passes yesterday made me think about how DJ Moore was asked a few weeks ago about his frustration about not being involved in a game plan and his only answer was that he wasn’t frustrated.

Regardless of his body language, he has never shown himself to be more than someone who just wants to do well on the team, and he has come up, clutch when his name has been called upon. He’s played through multiple injuries and dirty hits, and seems to be well respected in the locker room.

After the last few weeks, I do not wish for us to trade him away this off-season, especially since he has taken on a mental role for players like Jahdae Walker. Lets keep it going DJ

  1. idk man trading dj away and a first to the raiders for crosby is lowk a good move, we have too many mouths to feed, and i feel like dj and caleb don’t have that bond like dj and fields had, would love to keep him, but he’s expensive, and we got too many young rookies to feed. will be interesting to see his fate in chicago but i fear this might be the final season

  2. He has 2 game winning touchdowns against the Packers. I’ve been loving DJ since 23. Everyone acts like he needs to be traded, yet I’m sure those same people I’m sure were pretty fucking happy to have him for these games.

  3. Understated about this guy is how he never comes out of the game.  Dude obviously plays through injuries but I can’t remember the last time he’s missed time.

  4. Who wouldn’t be frustrated being on losing teams their entire NFL career.  This is his first winning season, probably feels good.

  5. He also has a very quiet personality and doesn’t show a lot of emotions so people think he doesn’t care. He definitely cares

  6. I appreciate him fs, but you can’t lie to yourself and say he wasn’t throwing tantrums on the sidelines this year and last year… his body language is bad when he doesn’t get the ball. And he’s definitely dramatic asl when we go 3 n out..We’re just lucky he doesn’t go on socials to cry. We don’t need those distractions.

But he is a great player to have. He seems like an awesome guy and I hope he continues to come up clutch.

  7. My mom knows some of the coaches wives. And she got an earful when she complained about DJ Moore to them once. The building *loves* the guy.

  8. I will always love DJ for his legacy game against the packers second game of the regular season. He was obviously hurting, but he knew he had to be on the field and give it all he had. True legend.

  9. Dude is a tank, bros ankles get rolled up on while blocking, blindside late hits, or makes a tough catch in between the hashes knowing he’s gonna get lit up. DJ Moore is a monster and I’ll never be a hater of him

  10. It’s clear that having depth is super important. Football is a tough sport and injuries happen all the time. Dj has clearly stepped up with Odunze out.

However the issue is that for as good as DJ is, the Bears have a few guys who are younger and cheaper than him and need reps when healthy (Odunze, burden, Loveland).

When our young corp is healthy, it’s hard to get them all on the field at once, especially with how much Ben Johnson loves two TE sets.

The Bears have some tough choices to make this off-season and I don’t envy Poles. Do we keep DJ? Restructure his contract? Do we let him go as a cap casualty in a trade? I really don’t know what the best move for the Bears would be here.

No matter what happens I’m glad DJ finally got to play on a winning team in the NFL. He’s been a huge part of us winning down the stretch and I’ll always root for him whether he’s a Bear or whether he’s wearing another team’s jersey.

  11. Two game winners against Green Bay including one in the playoffs cements his status as Bears legend

  12. Yeah man, I get the frustration with his numbers especially early on. But after a season’s worth of playing, you have to give him credit and respect for hanging in there, truly being a team player, not making it a big thing about his numbers or the attention but just going out there every play and doing his job.

And really giving it his all every time. That walk-off TD reception in Packers II encapsulates all of that. You could just see how dead tired that whole team was when they were lining up and they still made it happen.

This has easily been the most special season I’ve ever seen. I don’t want to see him traded either, but I’m not sure if there’s anyone else we can move that would get us a return.

  13. I legitimately don’t know how anyone could call themselves a DieHard Bears fan, if they still genuinely want to trade DJ after those two clutch victories against the fudge packers…

  14. I was in the “I’m okay with trading him” camp for most of the season simply becauase of all the receiving talent we have on rookie deals and our need for defense. But then the man said “at the end of the day, it’s fuck the Packers” on live TV and put on a cheese grater hat. And now I can’t imagine not having him with us.

  15. I think Rome being out really helped him and Caleb get in sync. For whatever reason it just seemed like they weren’t the first year and a half, but now they are clicking.  They obviously have trust in each other to make the big play when needed. Zaccheus will most likely be gone next season to make room for Jahdae and I think we need his veteran presence in a very young WR room.

  16. How the turn tables. I still vividly remember the trade DJ comments due to his perceived lack of effort

  17. I think he’s one of the keys to our offense. He’s a fighter, he’s a veteran, he’s got a great personality and positive influence on the younger guys. He isn’t afraid to get physical, he’s tough as hell. Love him!

  18. I think it’s crazy that he doesn’t get more respect. He’s clearly our WR1. I hope the Bears don’t get rid of him, because he seems like a good dude who’s been stuck on losing teams.

  19. Ever since his 3 touchdown game against the commanders he’s been one of my favorite players. He was one of the only silver linings in the tragedy that was the eberflus years. He’s one of the few left that got to really experience what the old bears teams felt like and Chicago loves him. I will always root for DJ.

  20. DJ is interesting this year. I want to start by saying I am not necessarily advocating for us to cut or trade the man. I think he’s probably hurt in some capacity which is probably the driving reason for his lack of consistent production.

But if he’s not, he’s got a lot to answer for. Is it the coaching not putting him in a place to succeed? Is it coaching and scheme boxing him out due to the slew of options Caleb has? Is it Caleb not finding him? Is it DJ losing a step?

If it’s anything other than injury (and even if it is you can still argue his salary can be better utilized) you have to consider whether or not he could return to form. If it just isn’t going to work you have to consider turning his salary into a d lineman for example.

We have an embarrassment of riches on the offensive skill side. If we can repurpose resources to help a brutally bad defensive front four we should.
