Oh boo hoo he makes 250 million fucking dollars and played awful
That last play encapsulates the season.
Mike McDaniels is out there. Shoot Philip Rivers as OC who runs a Shane Steichen offense that Justin thrived in is out there.
I don’t doom, but I do not want to see 10 yard go routes with wheel routes as the second look as our QB is looking for anyone to get open ever again.
Minter had a masterclass in defense with Oweh being our MVP, but Roman couldn’t figure out a simple dump or delayed release or hot route to help Justin out till the game was over.
Feels like he’s always injured in the playoffs, hope that isn’t a pattern.
Herbert is not THE problem, but anyone coming out of this game thinking everyone else is to blame and Herbert doesnt have a playoff problem is fooling themselves
0-3 2 tds and 5 turnovers. It’s time to stop giving him the princess treatment
I think Roman and offensive line are obviously the bigger issues.
But I will point out that Maye was getting crushed just as much (39 pressures on Herbert vs. 33 pressures on Maye) but managed to step up and make a few big plays, even though he had a couple turnovers.
Justin missed throws down the field, and also didn’t see guys underneath who were open on some plays.
This shit is getting old, he sucked today
Justin played atrocious today but somehow one game completely erasing what he has done the entire season makes me sick of modern sports discourse.
This team with that OL shouldn’t even be in playoffs but the fact that he dragged them to playoffs but played poorly will somehow be worse than Chargers just missing playoffs altogether.
He did not play well. Especially in the third. but I blame Roman and this entire offensive scheme for not being better and putting the offense in positions to succeed. I didn’t think that offense could be worse than the Houston game but it out did that. This offense has way better weapons than last year and yet they couldn’t put up at least 12. It’s clear being under center more was more difficult for him this game and his hand they did not try and improve that. Not even trying to make a deep throw or get Ladd on a big play. It’s unfortunate cause the defense played really well and kept them in it. They have to move on from Roman and this OL (Bozeman, Becton) GONE. I really felt like they had a chance to win this one which makes it more frustrating
Honestly guys I know copium, but we shouldn’t have been in the playoffs. We had the last ranked O-Line going into the playoffs. Herbert did his best but came up short (he’s got one more year to prove it or I’m done supporting him.) He’s played superman most of season, but today he didn’t really have too. Our defense is special and we should keep as many people as possible.
People to let go
Greg Roman
JK Scott
All linemen except Alt and Slater
Ryan Ficken
Mike Devlin
Maybe Ben Herbert
I’m just saying stuff cause I’m sad. Bolt up. See y’all next season.
I see this as the landing place of a season trending in this direction, right? It would have been great to win but could we have really competed against the Broncos looking like this? Make some exciting offseason moves that will help Herbert and run it back again next year!
I love herbo but this is his 3rd playoff embarrassment. He looked rattled out there. You cant tell me otherwise. Play calling and OL were bad as expected. But he still missed multiple opportunities to stay in it. He is ass in the playoffs, thats just it. I cant defend it anymore. If he plays even average i think we win by 1
He’s a warrior but he also looked fucking lost out there. He needs to be better
Herbert def lacked trust, fire the whole OL. Lets go
Herbert’s play tonight was like the culmination of a season of getting the shit beat out of him. What an utter embarrassment from the franchise that has professed to want to protect him at all costs. I don’t give a shit about injuries. You had your starting IOL out there tonight and they got pantsed.
As Collinsworth said, they didn’t make them pay for blitzing all night long. Vanilla offense with a terrible line. Just fucking trash from Harbaugh and Roman. If Roman isn’t fired I don’t know what to say. Harbaugh said his job was to him Herbert to the HOF… I hope he doesn’t sleep for a week. Pathetic.
I’m done with the Herbo glaze man. He is our franchise QB and he is a stud. But he clearly needs to work on his vision and decision making. Easy throws, check down to his rb, he has the arm strength for quick outs and slants in tight coverage but it seems like he’s always looking downfield. He can make something out of nothing, still he has a lot of work to do…
All can be true. Roman is the least creative OC in history and works against team strengths. He is simply not good. He has to go. Our O-line must be replaced beginning with Bozeman who exemplifies asskissing to keep a job. We have money to spend. It’s time to spend. Period. Other team’s backups would start for us immediately. That’s how bad this offense is. Finally, Herbert is Herbert’s worst enemy. He is not the worst qb in the league. However, in big games, he looks out of sorts and lost. He was a major issue tonight and to not say it is dishonest at best and delusional at worst.
The problem becomes PTSD and habit. When he does get time he doesnt act like that because he is so used to running for his life.
We can give Herbert his flowers for being tough and giving it his all. That, I don’t doubt.
On the other hand, we can criticize how he gets too focused on throwing deep. How he fails to audible and adjust despite it being his 6th year in the league. And no, calling “kill” is not audibling. It’s changing the play to a 2nd play that was *also* designed by the OC i.e. Greg Roman. Herbert doesn’t identify blitzers or adjust the protection. That’s an essential skill he should be learning how to do especially since the offensive line is garbage and Bozeman is completely lost
Don’t know what game you were watching but Herbert is just as at fault as anyone else.
We wouldn’t have been in the playoffs without him but also he chokes so hard in the playoffs. This was a winnable game if he had even remotely played okay
There are a ton of other offensive issues and he’s not THE reason we lost, but Herbert sucked tonight. Yes there was pressure all game, no question. But a top 5 guy scores more than three points and goes out there and makes plays. He failed on both Redzone opportunities, and straight up missed several deep balls that would have changed the game. Other great QBs make those throw in big moments, we saw it earlier today and yesterday. Herbert has now played like shit in three straight playoff games. If I get called a fucking “fair weather fan” for saying he played like shit then so be it. I’m happy he’s a Charger, and you can do much worse than him at the position, but I’m tired of pretending he’s a top guy when he has had slightly above average stats over the past three years and is 0-3 in the playoffs. In reality he’s fringe top 10 until proven otherwise.
Roman has to go. Bozeman has to go. Becton needs to see the bench all next year. Zion needs to ride the bench. These are not starters. They are barely 2nd string at best.
Throw a bag at Linderbaum. Trade some picks for a true WR1. Get McConkey in the slot with QJ at WR2 and run a Pro-Style Offense. The Defense needs like… one tall lanky corner. Thats it. And keep Minter.
Stay strong my prince. One day you won’t have to run for your life constantly.
How can Herbert be the problem if its 4th and 9 with season on line, and your OC calls for playaction and DT walks past 3 IOL to blast Herbert? How do you superman that?
Deep breaths… I’ve just become a super fan of the Chargers in the last 10 years—so maybe I don’t have a leg to stand on—but I always feel so disheartened specifically by the way some people in this fanbase react to disappointment. The fact that we even made it to the playoffs was highly improbable. Most of us agreed prior to this game that our 32nd-ranked, historically bad o-line would hamper our chances to even make it to the playoffs. I’m bummed right now, too, but games are won by teams, not individual players, and so many other franchises have it much, much worse. Fair-weather fans—begone.
We had no right to even get into the wild card with our o line.

Decent session for us we go again next season.
