We have Bowles as a HC so don’t care about the cap lol 😂
According to Josh Quepo the PR cap expert we should have about 50mil to spend without any restructuring of existing contracts.
Of our pending free agents I really only want Mike Evans back, Hall and Otton maybe if they come in under Josh’s projections, Hall under 5mil and Otton under 8mil then sure.
Then for outside free agents we need a MLB, a vet CB, and if we dont trade for a Pass Rusher another Edge Rusher to compete with a drafted player opposite of Yaya.
This free agency period will tell us how serious the team is about competing in ‘26. They have the cap and ability to be flexible and actually fill out some holes in FA. If they turtle up and go bargain bin shopping, that tells you all you need to know.
They need to not extend anyone early and sign a proven edge.
2 Edge, 2 LB. Take a look at someone like Likely at TE. An athletic type like him would change this offense in a big way. I’d also look for a cheaper vet CB. Last, actually spend some money on a real back-up QB.
If Evans wants to come back, re-sign him. If Izien can be had for cheap, bring him back too. Everyone else can walk. If Hall and Otton will take bottom starter deals the fine, otherwise, see ya.
After the signings at Edge and LB, draft two more of each. Load it up and let it shake out.
