If Lou is gone, who takes his place?

  1. It’s going to be hard to find a potential one year rental. There’s a chance we promote someone internally or pick up someone from the college pool

  2. I just don’t get the hype for Lou. Don’t get me wrong because he is a good defensive coach. However, he needs all pro players to make his defense work. And a lot of them. There aren’t too many coaches who wouldn’t have success with an all pro defense.

  3. Eberflus is available buts probably not a great fit for the players on the roster and the Tampa 2 isn’t as effective as it was when he was with us previously

Gannon may want to hook back up with Shane but his scheme is more of a zone rather than man which may not suit our players but is more aggressive than Flus’s tampa 2

Jim Leonard would be a option as a first time DC and runs a more similar scheme to Lou with simulated pressures and mixed coverages but probably chooses a more attractive job as he is one of the top candidates on the market this year with some HC buzz

Jim Schwartz is probably an ideal candidate given his likely fit schematically with our roster and is an excellent DC

A left field candidate would be reaching out to a Ryan brother to see if they would be interested in a single season gig as with our DB’s their scheme would be very exciting to watch

  4. Bye Felisha. Our pass defense sucked. We had to score 30 points to win games. No pass rush and a shitty secondary is a recipe for sad Colts fans.

  5. With the way the defense played near seasons end it was obvious other teams had him figured out and the in game adjustments were about non existent. So he’s more than free to go in my opinion.

  6. If Lou leaves, it will be a hire from within the current staff. The future is too uncertain for anyone to risk a 1 year rental in their coaching career.

  7. We need someone who has a history with working with dogshit linebackers, a meh line and a secondary that lacks depth outside the starters

  8. Which is yet another reason this organization doesn’t have a clue (leaving Ballard and Steichen in a lame duck year).
