[Underdog/Topps] LeBron James will wear a special-edition “23rd season” jersey patch for the rest of the season. The patches will be removed after each game and some will be placed into ultra rare trading cards

  1. Is he retiring after this season? Number 23, 23 seasons, now this.

The way he plays I believe he has a couple of seasons in the tank, but sometimes it is more about wilt.

  2. This feels more like a money grab for Topps rather than an actual appreciation of his ability to play at the highest level for 23 years

  3. He will play 24 or 25 seasons. No way he says it mid season.

When he retires, he’s going to announce it BEFORE the games start that year

Why?? Think about the money that would be losing ESPN (Disney), Nike, the NBA, the teams (tickets), some local brands (merchandise).

For God’s sake… even I would say; when his final season arrives, he will have a Netflix or Amazon Prime’s crew following him 24/7

    Not happening this year

This is only another way for them to make money and make us talk

  4. Based on how he’s rounded out from the late start to this season, seems like he could play next season too. For the team perspective, a slight discount would be nice. The antithesis is that the team seems to want to build around a core group of players around Luka’s age. Even if the team is worse without LeBron, they will need to take that step at some point.

  5. Man I love Bron but I really wish we could trade him to Cleveland and let him do his goodbye tour there next year. We don’t owe him like we did Kobe. Specially this ownership group. We can’t just waste a year of Luka’s prime on a farewell tour.

  6. As a card newbie. What does this mean? I can buy this on Tops online. Or do I need to buy a whole box and press my luck?

  7. Soon as they announced the special patch I had a feeling it’d end up in a Topps product

  8. Why are they doing this if he’s gonna play a couple more years? Wouldn’t a 25 year badge be better to have? Unless
