[Woike] Dalton Knecht has zero trade value around the NBA. The Lakers are unlikely to trade their 2032 first-round pick for an upgrade at the deadline.

  1. Dalton is just salary filler at this point. And at the moment there is no one on the market that is worth giving up the 1st round pick for when you can just wait and have 3 tradeable firsts in the summer.

  2. Knecht is a guaranteed brick anytime he shoots a 3. Im all for giving guys minutes to get out of a slump, but hes shot the ball at a pathetically low clip for damn near a full season of basketball at this point. if this continues i dont think its a reach that hes out of the league after his first contract. Shooters with bad defense who cant shoot is about as bad as it gets in the league

  3. – Max Christie : traded
    – JHS : bust
    – Maxwell Lewis : bust
    – Knecht : bust
    – Bronny : bust
    – Adou Thiero : injured

  4. I actually have seen Dalton make improvements with his defensive effort. His shot is just so down right now if he can find his offensive game again I actually think he could give us a solid 9-10 min a night. Just need to rebuild his confidence they should just keep him at this point and develop him.

  5. The worst part is that he has L mental. As soon as we tried to trade him last year he’s been quiet quitting. Dude has no fight.

  6. The Dalton news ain’t news. The ā€œunlikely to trade the pickā€ news is the bummer we should actually care about. Yet another year of Rob punting at the deadline. This team clearly has need and there’s clearly pieces out there that are getable. What a waste.

  7. People argue when I say Rob isn’t good at his job but look at who we’ve lost and who we’ve kept.

Goodwin played his ass off last year and should be getting Gabes minutes. Hell, I’d take Koloko over Maxi. Even letting guys go like Caruso was such a mistake. The Luka trade is deceiving people just because Nico is a moron and they were friends.

  8. just swap dk for keon work both teams keon cant even crack mins in kings dude played 5mins against houston šŸ˜‚ also he is ufa plus get ochai abaji i think jake laravia as starter is okey for me as long lakers add two 3 and d in the bench that is not one way like keon or ochai also im gonna buy low on cam thomas maybe we can get him for 2nd rd pick

  9. We had all summer to trade him while his value was decent. But as usual rob can’t do his job

  10. Our draft picks have been so ass. Friendly reminder we could have picked jaime jaquez jr, brice sensabaugh and some other way better players but we went with JHS, a dude who’s out of the league at 22 years old.

We also could have picked Yves Missi in the ’24 draft. But somehow we decided to pick one of the older players in the draft who also plays 0 defense when we needed a center alongside AD.

  11. Anyone here who didn’t already know this is as delusional as everyone thinks we are

  12. I honestly feel bad for him because I think his IQ borders on what you’d consider mentally challenged. I think he’s trying but is too stupid to remember plays or understand variations off plays, etc. It probably all sounds like rocket science to him…

  13. Ouch. Mods delete this. Would be bad if DK knew how to read words and defensive mismatches

  14. Not much new to add about DK except that he was a high-usage at Tennessee, and that likely established his rhythm. Trying to turn him into a catch and shoot sniper feels like it was bound to fail. I imagine he will be a great bench player when he can lead a second or third bench unit, not play off of Luka, LeBron, or AR.

  15. The only value player on the team (who they would maybe consider trading) is Rui.

Beyond that it’s expiring deals that nobody wants, a bust, and a second round pick 6 years out.

If the Lakers change their stance on taking back long term salary then maybe there’s deals to be had but theĀ FO wants to either trade expirings without taking back long term money. Or only take long term money if it’s a high value player, but without offloading real assets.Ā

    Can’t have both.

  16. There’s a reason why JJ is giving DK more consistent minutes recently, to try and prop up his trade value, if any, from zero.

  17. Another ā€œwait til next year guys we’re really gonna do itā€ from Rob & the Rambii. We get Luka and these asshats give themselves raises and do jackshit to build a team around him. Why is Mark Walter walking around with these guys cum on his face?

  18. Pelinka gotta go man. Drafts have been horrible. Most of his trades have been mediocre at best outside of Luka and has continued to have an old strategy when trying to but teams man. This ain’t 2015 man.

  19. If you continuously push every major decision down the road to the trad…excuse me summer, you can never lose your job right

  20. Time to just be honest in that we need to be patient and wait for LeBron’s contract to end. We aren’t going to make a Luka centric roster with that kind of cap hit. AD was our defensive anchor and we don’t have that anymore. This team is flawed but I have hope for the future. Any success this year is a bonus.

  21. if DK goes into FA and signs a min deal with some team and start balling out, I’m gonna scream

  22. Make it work with u got until offseason. Been saying it, no small trade gonna win us a ring this yr, let’s not be delusional. Go into the offseason with cap space and better picks

  23. I had hopes that he was just in a slump, but heard recently that he struggles to learn plays and has low basketball IQ since college. That’s a deal-breaker if the guy is just dumb.

  24. Considering how disgusted I am every time I see him step on the court, this is the least surprising piece of news I’ve read all morning.

  25. If they wanted to trade him they should have instructed JJ to structure the offense to showcase him early in the season.

Obviously he kinda sucks so that would have cost games. It’s a tough balancing act trying to polish a turd and also stay competitive

  26. As much as people hate on Kuzma, he was balling out his first couple years and even was able to contribute to a championship team here. After the Kuzma and Caruso picks, our drafting has been real deficient. Max Christie was our last good one I believe.
