From poor drafting, to failing to capitalize on opportunities, all the way to trading away franchise icons, the team is now faced with a major decision moving forward: should they rebuild, or should they go all in?   16. I want you to remember that I laid on my back in front of my wife and Terry Pagola in buffalo and let the team run a train on me in order to get Kevin Adam’s fired. I haven’t been able to watch or poop right for a month my wife has been icing my buns but hell at least the Sabres are winning.

  18. Isles fan here so I am enjoying this video and this season immensely

    NYRs are screwed because:
    1. Ownership is trash. Dolan cares about the Knicks, not the Rags
    2. You cant develop young talent so you always try to buy it which backfires almost every time.
    3. Your contracts are screwed – Fox, Mika, etc.
    4. Team is old af
    5. Franchise is the WORST in the NHL history – 1 cup in the last 85yrs, and 3 when there were only 4 teams in the playoffs (Pre WW2)

  19. Compare this team to the 14’ 15’ Rangers, the current team just have no resilient. With elite goaltending, they always find a way to win, not a high scoring games but they always find a way. I miss those 2010s Rangers. Sure it wasnt like high flashy scoring but they always are resilient, even older guy chip in. Now they’re just old, out work, slow, looks flat out dead.

  21. This is what you get when one of your stars has to settle a sexual assault case out of court because he doesn't know what consent is. I can't believe no one talks about this or even seems to care, but I guess I can because most NHL fans don't care about protecting women. Eat worms NYR.

  24. To quote Upton from Slap Shot (guy with handlebar mustache): "It's fucking embarrassing." I think all the high-ticket talent needs to go. The room has gotten stale. Like you, however, I'd hate to lose them, especially Trocheck. He's a heart-and-soul guy. But no one needs to go more than Drury.

  26. Other than goalies, when was the last time they developed a young player into a star? Kakko (#2 overall) and Lafrieniere (first overall) can be considered major disappointments. When you're drafting that high, you're looking for a star, not a 3rd line player. This is a slow, plodding team that needs a major overhaul.

  27. Rangers are done. Time for a rebuild It's Shesterkin and Fox and you are wasting Shesterkin's career like the habs did with Price. The Rangers have the fourth worst offensive team in the league. Where would they be if Trochek hadnt gotten healthy and if they didnt have JT miller. They have 13 players 30 and older. Including shesterkin who is 30.
    The Rangers are 7th in the Metro. They are 6 points and 6 teams out of a playoff spot.

    They are too old and not good enough.

    The Miller move was the wrong one.
    Lafreniere has very little trade value/

  28. I feel like I’m in the minority of the fanbase that felt like a retool/rebuild would be needed sooner rather than later after losing the ECF in 2024. Felt like the group hit their ceiling and with Panarin, Mika, Trocheck, and Kreider all in their 30s and with a mid prospect pool they were gonna have to shake things up. Just didn’t think it would come about like this with so much drama lol.

  31. With drury at the helm….this team will never go into a rebuild and he is not the man to do it either. He might consider a retool, but that might just get them into a playoff spot but never contenders.

    Like you said, this core had its chance and it went out the window when they drafted lafrenier and kakko. Those two pieces could have provided the nessecary boost and depth to go deeper in playoffs if they turned out to be top 6 players instead of what they are today.(yes you could blame rangers for their development)

    I am afraid that everything from now on that is not a rebuild, will only lead to a slow death and decay with maybe one short playoff apperance to show for.

  32. You also have to take into the account the playoff series over the last few years. As these guys get older and they play in the playoffs year after year, they lose conditioning. Look at Edmonton. I know everyone loves them (not me), but so much extra hockey year after year has them grow old more quickly.

  33. I think ur right about Sherwood, don’t think he is exactly what the Rangers need for offensive support but maybe someone like Elias Pettersson would! He would make for a great fit for the rangers in my opinion 😉

  37. The problem with the core of this team is that the GM, despite being an asshole, hurt their feelings and they gave up. They're selfish. This isn't about them. This is about the fans. We pay for them to be able to do this. Rather than chase glory and bring us a cup they would rather show up whenever they want to spite Drury. It's lost. Dolan needs to either fire Drury or sell the team and the core needs to go. I'd rather be in agony as a fan watching them let young kids play after stripping the team than see this group let the fanbase down year after year
