ESPN.com had the Braves #2 in their power rankings
January 13, 2026
Kind of laughable. How does a 76 win team that added Mauricio Dubon and Mike Yaztremski the #2 team in baseball.
I totally get they had injuries last year, but when don’t they have injuries?

It’s because ESPN is now a laughable company. A race to the bottom. The road to hell is paved with click bait articles.

Not only did they get you to click, they got you to share this crap on Reddit. In the words of George W Bush from the deck of an aircraft carrier…”mission accomplished”.
Anything that doesn’t have Dodgers-Blue Jays 1-2 is just trying to be edgy and contrarian. Don’t fall for the clickbait.
Click bait and sinker….. they got ya
Mid-offseason power rankings is a choice

I mean I agree that that’s too high but I also think it’s not quite right to think of the Braves as a 76 win team. They very likely underperformed substantially last season, so their baseline is a bit more than that.
They also added Robert Suarez.
Braves were ridiculously injured last year. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’re #2, but they’re good.
Everyone is always so obsessed with the Braves…don’t get it
Power rankings are useless all season long. So, they are borderline idiotic in mid january.
Braves will ball out if the right players stay healthy at the right times
They were world series favorites as little as 2 years ago and not much has changed outside of health.
