I've never been a Bryce fan but he's earned his option. With Andy likely retiring we need to pick up a strong armed backup and let them compete to raise his game. That scramble TD had me standing and screaming at my TV.
I think Bryce’s play defends on how good the team is around him
I hope the panther give Bryce a big fat contract while no one else will pay him a fraction of it so they can stay irrelevant for the next 5 years
If 60 of those pass yards are run yards, they win. The formula is Bryce around or just under 200
Re: Jalen Coker and the INT – Even before the season, we were trying to say that XL was our #2 which limited BY and Coker's opportunities work together. I truly hope that this game ends that discussion. Jalen Coker is a real, legit, talented NFL receiver. We have TWO on our roster for the first time since the years of Smitty and Moose. Please don't let us go into next year trying to force the idea of XL. If XL finally brings all his promise to the table, fine, now we have THREE legit receivers. But make XL earn that chance. Coker should be our undisputed #2.
To me, I still am not completely sold on BY. Picking up the fifth year was the right choice . . . no big contract, but another year to see what he can do. I want to see him increase his completion percentage next year. We cannot make strides with a low completion QB with a weak arm. I want to see him continue to get better and more consistent.
I still believe this was a successful season for the Panthers. I would think so even if we had lost the division at 8-9.
Bryce threw too many dots for that performance to be anything other than stellar
He’s a riser, not a faller in big situations. Only elite qb’s have that trait
I’m not mad we lost at all Bryce deserves a 5th year and he is our guy he shined when it mattered most and he put the team on his back this offseason we gonna get it together don’t worry WE WILL BE BACK. The Rams barely got out of there we would have beat them. Who actually listens to analytics 😂😂😂 ion care Bryce played GREAT
It feels weird saying it but… They shouldn't have started Robert Hunt. He wasn't football ready coming off of injury and was a huge liability in the 1st quarter. The O line looked much better in pass pro once he was taken out.
Other than Coker stopping on his route; Bryce and Coker played lights out! Both played like superstars! FUK the analytics!
I have been saying it since last year. Jalen Coker is our #1 WR not #2!!
Look at Bryce young’s biggest haters
Analytics this Analytics that blah blah blah
Lets see Bryce win several games in a row instead of win one lose one every other game
Mike McDaniels for OC and Brian Flores for DC!!!!
Foh many of us have been saying Jalen was a WR2 since the offseason, and the talking heads kept saying he was at best a #3, no better than Thielen, a "potential cut" candidate to make room to stash other guys
My team did GREAT!!! PROUD OF THEM. not to many mistakes.
Bryce didn't lose the game….
We gave the Rams a touchdown
Pump the brakes sparky! Lost 4-5 with the division and season on the line went 21-49 with a TD and a pick – made some nice throws but some crap one's too – revisit this again this time next year and we will see if the talk is about Bryce or 1 of the QBs in next years really good qb class
I’d love to hear your opinions on Justin Herbert. Herbert looks like a more athletic Kirk Cousins. He will have a lot of favorable stats but… I’m a BY guy. I think he is caught up in this narrative mainly bc of his small stature. I’m rooting for the young man to be our long term solution at qb.
Back to Herbert… he is caught in a narrative where he will continue to get the benefit of the doubt bc he is 6’6” and has a rocket arm. My question is can you win big with this guy who gets all the benefits. I don’t get caught up in narratives about players. I just cheer the one on that’s on my team
Bryce is all heart. But heart don't throw the football down the field. We need a quarterback. Single most important position we need to address. Then edge rusher #2. And then middle linebacker #3. Keep pounding!
This team and this fan base has something special right now. Name another team that lost, that is as optimistic as us. Name another another stadium that was louder than the Bank this weekend. Panthers nation is BACK !!!
If Puka Nacua doesn’t break up that Nick Scott INT, we win. But also, if Evero doesn’t play prevent defense at the end, we also likely win. But regardless, we were right in it and showed how special this community can be when shit matters man. Coming from a die hard fan from New Hampshire. Keep pounding!!
As much as I give Bryce crap for not being a franchise QB, he looked like the lights weren’t too big for him. He played well enough to win and the defense let him down. I will say the last drive was BS, I mean 38 seconds and 3 time outs is more than enough time to move the ball 40 yards to get in FG range. But the Rams did what they needed to last drive which is what he consistently struggles with, and that is the interior pressure moves him off his spot and the receivers are moving away from him instead of moving towards him on scrambles. But other than that, and the throw to Chuba on the swing pass with green grass in front of him, he was spot on. I do not care what the stats say, he did move the ball, he threw it with confidence and wasn’t afraid to throw it downfield. That is the Bryce this team needs to continue to be to become the franchise QB. But as I’ve said all year, he doesn’t do this consistently enough for me to say he is the guy. I hope he does continue to improve next year. I hope he can lead this team to a winning season and another playoff berth. Canales also needs to be a better play caller and do something with this running game that isn’t run into the wall and hope it breaks. I want to see more stretch plays, more tosses, and more spread em out dives off tackle from shotgun. I think the WRs play to close to the main formation to allow these zone runs and off tackle runs to be effective, but it’s got to be better than run off guard or off center into the teeth of the defense.
Most fans and a lot of beat writers saw it. Hopefully Canales saw it too early but the injury was the biggest factor
Bryce is the dude. Anyone that can’t see that is delusional or just biased
Bryce definitely has the ability to ball out. I just feel like his height is always going to be a negative factor in the NFL. When he can set his feet and throw properly he's throwing very accurate and are bombs but he has to jump a lot to get the ball out which slows the balls velocity and can be less accurate. I hope he can find a way to make it work.
This season would've looked a good bit different with Jalen Coker healthy all year. Really need that guy and the rest of the offense to stay as healthy as possible through next season, it makes all the difference. All I say for Bryce's sake is he needs competition in the QB room. Andy Dalton isn't giving any convincing prowess of being a solid back up anymore, I think he should be done here. Bryce will get better on his own but adding competition like Dave has been praising for the last two drafts makes everyone better and I want to see Bryce at his top tier best more often with some pressure on his back
Still need a speed guy Jimmy is okay, but he’s not good enough to be WR3 in my opinion.
