CARDINALS TRADE CHAOS: Ken Rosenthal EXPOSES Chaim Bloom’s DELUSIONAL Valuation of Brendan Donovan!
The St. Louis Cardinals are in the middle of a massive rebuild, and Chaim Bloom is reportedly playing hardball. According to Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic, trade talks surrounding All-Star Brendan Donovan have hit a major roadblock.
The issue? A massive “difference in perceived value.” While Bloom and the Cardinals front office view Donovan as a franchise cornerstone and a “star player,” rival clubs aren’t as sold on that valuation. With only two years of club control left and a $5.8 million salary for 2026, teams like the Red Sox, Mariners, and Royals are balking at the “king’s ransom” Bloom is demanding. Is Bloom being a genius by holding out for top-tier prospects, or is he being delusional about Donovan’s actual market worth?
We dive into Rosenthal’s latest report, the impact of Ketel Marte staying in Arizona, and whether the Cardinals risk “trade chaos” by overplaying their hand.

Because if Bloom gets rid of Donovan and comes home with a couple of question marks, that dont pan out, he just showed us his cards.
Bloom could always get 2 A League injured pitchers for Donovan.
Maybe even get 2 injured Double A hitters for Arenado.
