Hard agree:

  1. lack of foundation. Too reliant difficult shots under shot clock pressure.

  2. Running too many isos and chucking up threes

  3. Loss of FVV has been critical. He did so much that doesn't show up on stat sheets.

  4. We're too reliant on people hitting jumpshots. Not only is this not good now, it's not developing anything for the future.

  1. Haven’t watched the video but I watch the ChopShop and usually agree with his analysis. Our offense identity is heavily reliant on offensive rebounding and making jumpers. KD and Al-P go iso ball and everyone watches. We don’t have enough players that consistently pressure the rim outside of Al-P and Amen and their finishing can be up and down from game to game. Until Fred comes back, we won’t have any consistent guard play unless we make a trade/buyout or Reed develops into that, but I don’t see that as he’s still young and Ime would have to play him more. Our lack of 3pt shooters is also a concern that clogs our spacing and allows teams to pack the paint.

    It is more simple. You gotta shoot better than 27% from 3 on wide open shots in the last 5 games.

  4. I like him, but I disagree with his take on Reed. At least, mostly.

    Even though he’s correct that Reed has been less effective/efficient recently and he needs another year or two to fine tune his game, the Rockets offense is clearly already much better with him on the floor. Its an all too familiar story for the offense to go on a drought when Reed leaves the floor.

    Defenses respect his shooting enough to where he has pretty impressive gravity, and this team struggles with spacing. Also, while he needs to grow as a playmaker, he’s the best one we have not named Sengun or KD. Sometimes you need that.

    Unless we make a trade, I don’t think we have a choice but to embrace Reed playing a bigger role. Defensive liability or not.
