2. Each playoff blowout just reinforces what he already knows, he's holding the team back. They have some really talented players that deserve better and in a golden age of quarterbacks where so many teams have good ones and the Steelers can never seem to get one, you have to break that cycle by making a change.

8. The issue is not Tomlin, just as it was not case in Baltimore with their coach. The issue is getting a good enough QB, without tanking a couple of seasons. To win in the playoffs, you need a great defense and a good QB with weapons. This year they have a good enough defense, but paid too much for TJ that undermined morale of the rest of the players. The offense can use Rodgers, but he needs better WRs who can overcome man coverage and make the catches. Most of all the offense needs a much better coach. Rodgers could return, but if so, he will ask for a new OC and also WR1 and WR2 able to separate with their route running.

Not only is it time for Tomlin to go (and has been for at least four years now), its also time for the Steelers to come off their high horse and see the 2026 season as a means to get into the top of the 2027 draft, in a year we expect to be a good one for teams in need of a QB. Enough with the leftover QBs and stopgap moves. Screw this over .500 fetish, go 4-13 and be proud of it for once.

    The Steelers think they're too good for this, and that's a big problem. How in the wide world do they think they're going to get the next Roethisberger?

13. Steelers are caught in the NFL mid trap. They're pretty competent and never at the top of the draft so they never wind up getting elite talent. They need to tear it down and rebuild. Take your lumps for a few years.

    And there is zero guarantee the replacement is better. The league is littered with failed “next genius” hires.

    The Steelers need:
    • One draft cycle where elite talent falls to them
    • Or a short, intentional reset (not a full tank)
    • Or a true difference-maker at QB on a rookie contract

38. I’d love to see him take on the Jets, and show that he really is a HOF coach. The Steelers appear to be a once fine machine that hasn’t had any maintenance in the last 15 years. It will go on running at some level for a long time, but eventually collapse.

39. I seriously can't handle another season of Tomlin as head coach. How many consecutive playoff blowouts are fans and the owner willing to accept? They must be off their rockers.

46. Seriously, whether the Steelers keep or fire Tomlin is probably not a determining factor. No head coach was gonna win with that roster. It’s time to get past the sentimentality, review the entire roster, and use Coach Noll’s old phrase…"it’s time to move on with your life”s work".
