Mets Reportedly In Three-Year, $120-140MM Range In Kyle Tucker Talks
January 13, 2026
This is a tough one. Feels wrong saying it but have to root for the Mets to get him unfortunately.

Surely the short term AAV for Tucker is closer to $50m than $40m, right? Bregman signed for $40m AAV last year with the Sox and Tucker is a better player.

$40 million for three years seems reasonable.
C’mon, Cashman.
Tucker isn’t signing for that low. He’s better and younger than Bergman who signed that last year.
Yeah I doubt he’s signing that
Crazy this guy can’t get a long term deal. What am I missing?
There isn’t a logical reason why we can’t make that offer
Please just give him 9/360 and be done with it. He would make us instant AL favorites. It would also have us avoid the Beli contract that is going to be a disaster.
We should be negotiating if not to get him but to at least drive the price up on the Mets.
He’s not taking 3 years
Said 4-160 with opt outs every year. Deff down for that
Is the Yankees sign Bellinger to a 5-6 year deal and Kyle Tucker signs for 3 I will lose my fucking mind.
I doubt this is what he’ll sign for BUT at the end of this free agency
If we sign Belli for 5 years and Tucker only signs for 3 years with opt outs after every year or whatever, I’ll be pissed
I read that like they are needing to up there offer in that range like add 3 more years and add 120m more than current offer
That seems pretty reasonable, but why would Tucker sign a three year deal?
If the mets sign kyle tucker and we lose or over pay belli, im gonna throw up
If this is really where the guy’s market is unbelievable that the Yankees are not in
it’s not my money but I match that easily.
short term commitment, you likely avoid any major physical decline. keep him thru the rest of Judge’s prime.
So one of the guys we considered as a Soto replacement is gonna go where Soto is while we negotiate against ourselves for the other guy we viewed as a Soto replacement lol
If Kyle Tucker signs a 3 year deal (presumably with opt out after 1) and the Yankees don’t sign him I’m gonna quit being a fan
Kinda kidding wish I was serious lol
Why the hell would the yankees not be in on this, come on.
Get. Tit. Done
This is good news actually. Bellinger’s price will go down.
We don’t want any astros losers anyway
What is up with Stearns and his obsession with 3 year contracts lol
Please and thank you
Let’s get him, Freddy, maybe Bo
We’d be legit
At this point I just wonder if we are getting at least one good deal… But I’m losing my hopes (not like I had many).
Seriously after how the Mets “stole” Soto, yanks if nothing should be negotiating to drive up his price for all the 3 teams mentioned
I’m glad the market is telling these guys what their worth, asking for Judge money without Judge stats is just silly.
If this is true the yankees need to pounce and forget Bellinger.
Sigh.
Why not us
I mean the Mets owner seems to have an infinite amount of money taxes be damned.
Mets payroll increasing dramatically won’t help win championships.
If we can’t match something like this we are cooked
We’re not the big spenders anymore. He’s too poor to own the Yankees. #SmallMarketHal
Hate to bring to you but that’s a overpaying cause they talking about $50M per year that’s more than Soto makes
I’d love to see some reporting on why they chose to prioritize Bellinger and playing games with Boras instead of focusing on Tucker when we tried to trade for him knowing it would be extensive to extend him before landing Belli last year because this one has me stumped
Holy shit Cashman, run to the phone to beat that by $5m or so total.
