  1. No Sir, I don’t like it. You know I’ve spent my whole life being a pessimistic Cubs fan. That ends this year. I love Nico to pieces. And will trust the process.

  2. You replace Tucker‘s bath now are you you want to get rid of Nico? That makes absolutely no sense Nico can hit and he’s also an All-Star and a gold glove player

  3. Other teams are talking about Nico so maybe the Cubs will screw up and trade him. Trade Nico and during the
course of the season everyone will wish we still had him.

  4. Signing Bregman just to trade NICO will piss me off! If they are gonna be cheap…Should have just given that money to NICO…They have money for Bregman…They BETTER have money for NICO! KEEP NICO no matter what!

  5. I was open early in the off-season to a Nico trade but with the addition of Bregman and Cabrera, I think it would be wise to keep both Nico and Shaw. Swanson and Bregman can get more days off as they are older. Shaw is a near perfect utility player being able to play just about anywhere.Nico can also switch to shortstop at times.

  6. I'm predicting that, unless a team that needs him badly offers a lot for Nico, he isn't going anywhere. It would either be Nico or Shaw leaving, and I think that Nico would be more likely, but doubt that either are leaving because they are tied together in that when they don't extend Nico after 2026 as I'm expecting, Shaw will be his replacement at 2B unless he's particularly bad in 2026. All that being said I could maybe see Nico being traded at the deadline to either make budget room for or in exchange for a closer.

  7. Smart play is to sign Bichette who gives them more offensive upside then trade the expiring contracts of Nico and Taillon to NY for Will Warren and either Lagrange or a back end pen arm to pair with Palencia. They're already over the cap and would only add roughly 5-8 million more for 3 long term pieces vs 2 rentals.

  8. Any ideas who's going to play right field ? Don't say Suzuki after telling us he is a defensive liability last year and moving him to DH , what about Bader ?

  9. GD this is a dumb take… Hoerner is one of the best hitters in baseball. He is one of thr few guys who can hit good pitching. Who else do you want up with guys in scoring position?

  10. Bregman was highly implicated in the 2017' WS cheating scandal!!! And I understand he had the "mia culpa" moment, but still, it reflects on his character all the same!!!! No, I don't see Bregman as an answer to Cubs needs, nor do I see him as a fan favorite!!! If the Cubs move Nico, I don't know this team anymore!

  11. I will lose my shit if they trade Nico. 2 time gold glove, one of the best 2nd baseman in the game, not going to hit homeruns but hes absolutely going to get on base and steal a lot of bags. Nico is a dawg, and they better open up the checkbook and keep him here for a long LONG time. The Cubs can not improve as a team if Nico isn't on the roster, period. I personally feel very strongly about that.

  12. All this talk of trading Nico is just killing me. He’s a consistent hitter, an amazing defenseman, and brings an intangible energy to the team. Very difficult to replace something like that. Not every player is going to be able to hit for power and it makes no sense to dump somebody for that reason alone.

  13. give Swanson away, intake some of his salary, we are in good position with the rest of the group. Extend and Play Nico at SS and Shaw in 2b. Infield is set for at least 5-6 years. You dont need to look elsewhere , and the years ahead are for pitching pitching pitching
