I’ve always known Votto, and Goldschmidt had similar stats, but was surprised that Freeman also is very similar. Who you taking if you could have them at the start of their career? For me, I’m taking Votto. there was a 5 year span where Votto absolutely crushed. Had the higher peak, but also the lower lows. There’s an interesting video on Votto hitting over .400 during a 162 games. Foolish baseball is the channel. It’s takes the last half of a season that started slow for Votto, and after the all star break he goes on a tear. Then adds the 1st half of the next season, where again, he goes on a tear.

Goldy. But really not much difference between them. Not really any wrong answers here.
As much as I love Freddie in his Braves days, overall I’m taking Votto
Think it’s gotta be Freeman . No disrespect to the other two they were / are outstanding players , but you factor in the postseason success , 300 more hits and he’s still gonna add on to those tallies .
I don’t think there’s a wrong answer at this point, but the likelihood that Freddie will continue to be productive for at least a couple more seasons might be the deciding factor.
Really fun question
Freddie but I’m a Braves fan so I’m biased
That’s crazy how similar they all are
Freddy All day. Phillies fan here and he has done damage throughout the years.
Goldy always slaughtered the Giants, so my view is skewed. Gimme PG
Votto for the stats and vibes
interesting how far apart Votto and Freeman’s OPS are yet their OPS+ are so close. they’ve had a lot of overlap seasons but I guess Votto’s early seasons sway it.
I’m probably going Votto here just based on WAR per 162, but it is crazy close.
Crazy how similar their careers are. They’re even all 1/2 on one another’s BR Similarity Scores (1/3 for Goldy, fu Derek Lee).
I like Votto because I’m OBP obsessed.
Freddie Freeman has two World Series walk-offs. I’ll take him.
Freeman for me. Votto 2nd and then Goldy.
Im a Dodger fan, and i remember some of the Votto/Grenkie battles. Talk about “game within the game”…those were epic but Votto owned Grenkie’s soul
Give me FF. He still has some tread on the tires too.
Since these guys are somewhat similar, I’m going Votto simply because his personality. Absolutely loved his antics on the field and interviews. What a guy, him and Prince Fielder were some of my favorite players to watch just because never know what they would do during a game interacting with fans
still can’t believe Votto lost the 2017 SS to Goldy. take a look at those stats. i’ll never get over that
Joey Votto is one of my all-time favorite players and a career .409 OBP is #chefskiss
For sure Freddie.
This is fascinating. Goldschmidt’s got the stolen bases, I never knew he was any kind of threat. I love how Votto just didn’t pop out for the longest time, which seems reason enough, except of course that Freeman is still going. So cold logic, give me Freeman, but I’d want Votto for fun.
Can I take Freddie twice?
FF, bc he probably has more good years left than Goldschmidt.
Freddie
Freeman>>>
Votto. He was relied on to carry a franchise like neither of the other 2 will ever really know. Hell of a player, human, and leader. Might not be the most talented of the group but he is the best overall package.
Freeman is 2 years younger than Goldschmidt and Votto is done accumulating stats. Freeman is already in the lead on most counting stats and accumulated WAR. That gap will likely grow with freeman having more productive years left. When all their careers are all over, Freeman will be the clear pick.
Freeman. Epitome of consistency. Awards are not a fair assessment. Stats to me show he’s better as well. Everyone faces the same pitchers (mostly).
I think this looks different if you include defensive stats. I think Freddie takes that on majority.
Votto had a higher, more sustained peak, but Freddie has hit 132 OPS+ or better the last 13 years or his career – hit 141 last 2 each – Votto did that 8 of 9 yrs in a row (125 in there not bad) but then just one 130 OPS+ year in the last 5 of his career when he was mediocre and mostly hurt.
I’ll take Freddie
How did Votto never win a Silver slugger??
Your life on the line, you trust Freddie Freeman to resuscitate all hope. The man is built for the brightest and hottest of spotlights.

Freeman every time. He is the biggest reason the Braves won the WS in 2021 and the biggest reason they haven’t since. He has the ability to carry a team on his back that the other two don’t. No slight on Goldy or Votto. Both are/were great and should get serious HOF consideration.
Freeman no question about it, and hes still producing at an elite level
One is kinda washed/little power left, one is long retired, one just had a 3.5 BWAR season
Prime Votto was him, man.
Freddie fucking freeman
Freddie Freeman. Hits for average, has power. Gold glover.
Very sweet swing. With that said, if I couldn’t have Freeman, I’d go Goldschmidt 2nd.
Freeman because of his clutchness, batting, and durability
Gotta be Freddie for me. One of the best first basemen of my lifetime without a doubt.
If Votto didnt play for the Reds his numbers could look even better
I think prime Votto was probably the best hitter of the 3. I just love Votto so I’m going to go him. Freeman is amazing too.
Freddie
Freeman will be the only first ballot HoFer. Agree or disagree
