To think the A’s a team with little fans outside of Oakland is expected to sell tickets of a dying sport in a dying city while tickets will prob be 140+ is wild

It is not about the fans. The org has been milking the League for profit sharing, and network / broadcast rights money for years. Now FJF is going to run off with a couple hundred million dollars in Nevada taxpayer money. I’m sure some state senators and reps are making money on this, as are some Vegas contractors.
It really fucking sucks this happened to us, to this franchise. But I get how and why it happened.
It’s not about baseball or fans. It’s about real estate and tv deals. The game is merely a vehicle for them to continue to keep pumping the MLB gravy train.
I know a lot of people on this subreddit have ODS -Oakland Derangement Syndrome- but the reality is they will sell a lot of tickets, First, casinos will buy at least 10,000 season tickets, it makes for a good comp (freebie) for their highrollers, second, Vegas is a destination, people will use “I’m going to see the pirates play or the Red Sox are in Vegas!” As an excuse to go to Vegas third, millions of people from Southern California make the drive to Vegas every year and when the dodgers, angels, padres play they’ll travel.
Vegas is far from a dying city. I agree with your overall point though
I mean baseball is not a dying sport…they’ve been breaking viewership records the past 3-4 years
Baseball is not a dying sport.
It will become another attraction on the strip. Fans of other teams will come to Vegas and go see their team play as part of their Vegas trip. I was in Vegas on the final two Sundays of the NFL season and after the games the casinos were packed with NYG and KC fans respectively.
is this a new rendering?
baseball is not a dying sport lol
Are these new rendering cause the old ones looked very different and way shittier
I live in Ontario Canada and the A’s are my team, also, baseball isn’t a dying sport … this was a stupid post.
Baseball is a dying sport? They set attendance records in 2024. Over 70 million spectators, more than ever
FJF
Baseball is not a dying sport… Just like the Raiders, it will be where opposing teams go to watch their teams play while on vacation. There will be zero home field advantage. FJF.

To use the parlance of Vegas I honestly don’t give great odds to them ever ending up in Vegas. I’ve never thought this made sense and it doesn’t seem like Vegas is jumping into this feet first.
