Is he better than any of the current rotation? No he isn't. He's also older than the starting rotation. Why spend money on him? The Braves pitching staff is going to be really good. The Braves don't need Bassit

Again, pitching isn’t or hasn’t been the problem the past two years. It’s been the lack of hitting and the Braves haven’t done anything to help that.
The Braves need to use a 6 man rotation. Because of the age of Sale, the youth of Waldrep and Schwellenbach, and injuries of the others

This is crazy, this was exactly how my perfect off-season would have played out, all that is left is signing Chris Bassitt.
They re-tooled their bullpen, and left a spot or two for some younger pitchers to step-up. They significantly improved their bench and their versatility, and they added Yaz and his perfect approach and power to make countless calls to the Chop House.
Now, sign Bassitt, and call it a pretty dang impressive and successful off-season.
Such an excellent, under the radar offseason for AA and the Braves. Even the Braves new coaching staff is an improvement, overall.
Braves need another veteran, bulldog you can rely on every 5th game, and that is Bassitt. CB is a quality starting machine, and you can justnabout pencil him in for 6IP, 5H, 2-3R, 2BB, and 5K. He is the perfect fit for the 4th-5th spot in the Braves rotation, and he is also someone you have zero issues handing the ball for a post-season start.
Great pick up. You can never have enough good starting pitching!
