Just TWO DAYS after the heartbreaking 16-3 AFC Wild Card loss to the Patriots (Jan 11, 2026), the Los Angeles Chargers announced they’ve parted ways with OC Greg Roman (after two seasons) and offensive line coach Mike Devlin! Jim Harbaugh wasting NO time making big changes to fix the struggling offense that fizzled in the postseason. The run-heavy scheme promised elite physicality… but it never fully materialized. Chargers ranked 22nd in rushing success rate and 19th in EPA/rush over Roman’s tenure (per TruMedia). Injuries hammered the O-line: 54 sacks allowed on Justin Herbert (2nd-most in NFL), league-high 43.3% pressure rate, and a staggering 32 different O-line combinations due to injuries to starters like Rashawn Slater (torn patellar) and Joe Alt (high-ankle issues).Herbert battled like a warrior: 3,727 passing yards, 26 TDs, 13 INTs + 498 rushing yards (career-high) despite the chaos and playing through a broken hand late in the season. But the offense scored just 3 points in Foxboro — back-to-back playoff duds with minimal production (only 1 offensive TD in last two postseason games).Harbaugh’s bringing in fresh blood for 2026 — who should be the next OC? Mike McDaniel? Kliff Kingsbury? Someone to unleash Herbert fully? This is a BOLD move for Bolt Nation! What do you think — right call or too soon? Drop your hot takes below! Despite the Chargers’ tough 16-3 wild-card loss to the Patriots (Jan 11, 2026), LA showed real promise—especially defensively! The Bolts’ defense was dominant, limiting a high-powered Pats offense (28+ PPG) to just 16 points and ONE touchdown.

Standouts included:
Odafe Oweh: 3 sacks, strip-sack & forced fumble
Daiyan Henley: 13 tackles + key INT
Teair Tart & Tuli Tuipulotu: disruptive sacks

Justin Herbert added 57 rushing yards on 10 carries, and the O-line held up better than recent weeks.Offseason roadmap with ~$103M cap space & the No. 22 pick:Offensive Line – Top priority! Cut Becton/Bozeman, target vets (Wyatt Teller?), draft early (Kadyn Proctor?).

Weapons & Scheme – Upgrade WRs if Keenan Allen leaves, add RB/TE help, evaluate OC Greg Roman for easier throws.
Defense – Re-sign Oweh, Mack, Tart; bolster interior DL & secondary.

Protect Herbert, keep the elite D humming, refine the run-first identity under Harbaugh—this team has huge upside for 2026!

  1. GOOD AFTERNOON BOLTS BROS, IT'S ME TIMOTHY FROM VISTA CALIFORNIA, YOU KNOW THE CHARGERS OFFENSIVE LINE COACHES ARE AT FAULT ALSO, THE WAY THE OFFENSIVE LINE CALLAPS ON THE QB TO GET HIM HURT.

  2. There was no power football you can't have power football when you feel those three interior lineman that were so bad that they didn't do anything about we don't know what Justin Herbert could do if we had a real running game where he could throw play action passes to open receivers because it almost never happened I don't think the offense should be all Justin Herbert throwing I think they need a real offensive line and an offensive coordinator who can call real offensive plays and make adjustments on a down to down basis

  3. We also need an offensive coordinator that's on the Sidelines not up in a booth so that he can interact with Justin Herbert and the offensive players in real time between drives example let's say Justin needs to pay attention to the check down a little more talk to him tell him you're going to call a couple EZ passes look for the check down first Greg Roman never did any of that s*** I guarantee it

  4. I remember seeing a film breakdown video after we lost to the colts talking about how confusing and unnecessarily complicated Greg Roman’s run blocking schemes were… I think machi becton probably said what the entire online was thinking.

  5. Good I didnt expect this move so quick ht its good greg roman was just not getting it done and now the entire interior needs blown up. 2 new gaurds and a new center im letting zion walk too cus your nly getting average play from him on a good day and he plays below average more of the time and bozman and becton should not even be backups they are so bad

  6. I think Harbaugh needs to go too, he seems like he's aged at Biden speed and has appeared sluggish and slow in press conferences….even on the sideline he seemed dazed.

  7. I’m so glad it’s not just me that thinks these things. A lot of time the players weren’t sure what their assignments were and the techniques of their positions were not clean or polished.
They say Herbert can’t perform in the playoffs but, all the teams in the playoffs are good, no 3-14 teams to beat up on.
Herbert is an incredible talent but the quarterback seems to be the most dependent position; ALL the line men need to be blocking well, running backs need to pick up blocks, running backs need to get behind the defensive line as a check down, receivers need to get separation.
Herbert’s to nice for his own good by not speaking up.
Rivers was the same way and got beat up countless times.
If this stuff happens to Manning or Brady, the would be out of their f***ing mind with anger.

  8. After this game I want Justin Herbert to demand more from his coaches and players and get angry if they do not. I WANT ANGRY HERBERT " TAKE NO PRISONERS". Hopefully this gives him the scars he needs to win.

  9. This is not meant as a criticism but what about the poor game Justin Herbert had against the Patriots ? I know the O line let him down ? But do you think that’s all it was? ⚡️⚡️⚡️

  10. “Herbert threw for 5000 yards in a Sirianni an Steichen offense. We need to find someone that can bring the offense to LA”
He was with Sirianni in Philly and Steichen/Rivers with colts. That back to back 38 rushing/passing TD’s from hurts, and the 2nd best rushing with colts? Was Marcus Brady. He’s been the pass game coordinator with Chargers for two season. A good candidate for the OC job, to get Herbert back to system he had his best year with.⚡️

  11. FINALLY!!!! The Spanos got smart! The Chargers need a young innovative mind like Moore… The same guys bounce around from team to team and their schemes are well known… A few of them are innovative and change it up regularly… Here are some suggestions… There isn't one single "best" OC available, as it's subjective and changes, but
Mike Denbrock (Notre Dame), Will Stein (Oregon), Kyle Flood (Texas), and newly hired Jason Beck (Michigan) are consistently ranked among the top for their innovative schemes, high-powered offenses, and impact on major programs, with Denbrock often cited for his success with Heisman winners and National Championship appearances. Other highly regarded names include Andy Kotelnicki (Penn State) and Jordan Davis (North Texas) for explosive, efficient offenses.

  12. I forgot to mention, Oregon is known as OL U… I would look in to their OL coach and OC as a tandem that are familiar with each other… They are both in touch with young players as well… Roman is a dinosaur…
