Regarding draft investment, I know people are wanting to find the TE and DT of the future because that’s familiar, but investment in DE and WR substantially increase your odds of the player being effective at the end goal which is to sack the quarterback or catch a lot of passes.
Of the top 25 players in receiving yardage in 2025, 2 are tight ends and 1 is a running back. The remaining 22 players are wide receivers
Of the top 25 players in sacks in 2025, 2 of them are DTs and the remaining 23 are edge rushers
Of course you also have to look at the player independent of the position they play, I’m sure all of the teams that took edge rushers over Aaron Donald regret it, but just as a general rule your odds of hitting are better at edge and WR
I am getting very frustrated that it’s been well-known Nagy isn’t coming back for weeks but the Chiefs brass aren’t interviewing anyone for OC. What is the holdup?
With Tomlin, Greg Roman and Kevin Patullo leaving there are a lot more head coach and OC openings. Titans are one of the worst jobs in the NFL due to bad ownership and a bad roster, they will be picked over by most candidates. I think Matt Nagy ultimately gets the job there.
