Why is this already sold out?

  1. Hello Kitty Day is an absolute shit show every year. I’m pretty sure this sold out the day special event tickets were announced. One of those instances of a brand’s popularity transcending the thing it’s temporarily associated with.

  2. Dude, you have no idea! People look up these dates on almost all teams if they have it. Hello Kitty collabs draw the people.

  3. It’s a Sanrio property having in event with a big name Bay Area brand, self explanatory

  4. You wouldn’t want to be a part of the chaos anyway. It’s the universe doing you a favor.

  5. Hello Kitty Day last season was one of the most insane giveaway days I’ve seen in a very long time. This already being sold out is no surprise at all.

  6. Ok, so I know Hello Kitty is one of the most popular fictional characters ever created but I’ve lived for 35 years and never met anyone who has Hello Kitty stuff. How can that be?

I guess this is why you trust data and not anecdotal evidence but it just feels weird.

  7. How can you live in the Bay Area (or California, or the world) and not know the pull that Hello Kitty has? It may not be for you, but surely you can see it.

  8. Hello Kitty is the main event and the Giants are like the opening act benefitting the most from this collab.

  9. It makes me so sad this event is like this every year. My autistic teenager adores Hello Kitty (like it was a special interest for a long time, and still holds a very special place in her heart), she loves going to Giants games, and it is always the week of her birthday. Giving her this experience, if it was well run, would be the highlight of my summer. She doesn’t have a lot of true joy in her life and this would be a thing that would be joyous for her.

(I took her to a hello kitty pop up event once in Sacramento in June. We waited in line in the mall parking lot for about 7 hours in full sun to have the opportunity to buy incredibly overpriced merch. I think all hello kitty stuff is poorly run but people come out in droves for it anyway.)

Because of the children and Hello Kitty Bros

  11. The women of sf fucking love hello kitty, it’s insane, I don’t think I see the kind of traffic and lines for any other night of the year at Oracle as they do for hello kitty events

  12. Hello Kitty is super popular, and they’re always limited in tickets because they expensive. These actually sold out like 2-3 days after release months ago. And when I almost bought one I saw most people would go in big groups. For fun you should know tickets were $320 on average each. And groups were in the 5-10 range…people were spending thousands people don’t play about their kitty. Btw this is an EVERY year thing. So if you want any chance next year you need to watch it closely like the people who spend thousands did lol. Unfortunately

  13. Bay Area has the highest percentage of Asians in the country. Side note: sometimes I feel like the front office doesn’t understand this as well.

  14. I managed to get my daughter to the bucket hat giveaway a couple years ago, we thankfully got the hats. Last year, it was sold out before I could get the funds together. The jerseys are going for $60+ on eBay. I was surprised that a keychain sold out so fast. The K-Pop Fireworks Night is a solid substitute

  15. Hello Kitty is intense. Bring padded gear and show up early. If you’re casually interested and posting, imagine how parents, children and collectors will feel. Anyway, mostly posting because I miss Star Trek Night. Does anyone know why it went away? I’ve been hoping it’ll return but the last one I remember was in like 2018, 2019
