This is more about what other teams valued Arenado. Surely the Cardinals contacted every team for their interest. The best offer was an 8th round 2025 draft pick and in return they get Arenado and only pay $5 M a year for 2 years. It’s like buying and selling a house, the value is set by the buyer and seller.
