  2. Bottom line is that we need a true #1 regardless of olave and doubs. The saints have their eye on ANOTHER Ohio st WR Carnell Tate so most likely they keep olave in order to help with the rookie’s development. FREE AGENCY WISE- WE NEED A BIG TARGET VET TIGHT END- as kamara transitions out. Let’s give shough the resources he’ll need to deviate from a sophomore slump.

  4. I don't think he will get top money because of his injury concerns, but olave is a high 2/low 1 receiver and will and should get paid like it. I think we should sign him, draft a high upside receiver, sign one guard and draft another high upside guard.

  5. I keep hearing people say front load an Olave contract. We never do that. If we extend him it will be to bring his cap number down. We’ll restructure every year and be stuck with a huge cap number down the road.

  10. Matt you pay Olave 33 million I’m sorry. We have a very young team all on rookie deals with very few large contracts. I don’t see how you could watch Shough’s connection with Olave and say “ nah don’t pay him” He had Olave looking like a top 10 receiver. Pay the man what he’s owed. We can always lower the cap hit every other year like Loomis always does but we won’t really even need to because so much of our team aren’t on large contracts. Schedule the deal so that it expires when all the other rookies need to get paid. Our winning window is open. We should not be siphoning talent.

  11. Stfu Matt you always negative. Olave performed top 7. Idc on how many targets. You have the money and chemistry with a young qb. Pay the man. Doubs hasn’t even produce a 800 yard season.

  12. If olave was a true #1 there would be no doubt. Hes a #2 that can work. Either we go get a #1 in free agency or we draft a complimentary #2. This is no diss to olave bc I think he’s a baller but our system hasn’t optimized him the best way. Derek Carr put him in danger, and shough and rattler missed a lot of match up opportunities bc of oline issues and the fact that olave wasn’t always at this best. He dropped passes. I’m not ready to give up on him , I’m just saying , if we pay him plan to pay for an assistant as well because he really can’t manage the job all by himself. Olave was #6 in targets. #5 was JSN with 120 rec 1800yds 10tds, #7 was jettas with 84 rec 1k yds 2 tds

  13. Missed on Brian Breese? Dude you don’t know football. He had 7.5 sacks his sophomore season and now he’s playing out of position. He’s a 3 technique tackle not a 5 in a 3-4 defense. Get a clue

  14. Let's see what happens in the draft before you float a new contract. If the Saints get one of the top 2 WRs with the 8th pick, keep Olave on his rookie deal and let him play out the 2026 season on that. The dude had one VERY bad concussion and could be another concussion away from ending his career. If he walks after 2026 then the Saints will have their (hopeful) #1 WR from this draft and can go into Free Agency next year looking for their #2 WR. Spend the FA money this year going after G Wyatt Teller and G David Edwards.

I don't think they are going to spend big in free agency for any WR maybe a vet on a 1 year deal because they already invested in Devaughn Vele and Ja'Lynn Polk a WR they picked up on season ending IR that they gave up a draft pick for both WR and they have newly signed Damien Alford, the Saints are in rebuilding mode and I think they like the WR's they have in the building

  18. Olave earned it and they had great chemistry on the field. Another important note that I must add is that Olave helped me win fantasy football this past year, so therefore, he must be paid for generously for his efforts.
