Bringing in a presumably pissed off player to get as much intel as possible on the defensive gameplan of his former team. I see you, Vrabs.

  1. they hardly even disguise anything. all he’ll have to say is “yeah, they coming” lmao

  2. “Ok guys, here’s the secret to beating the Texans pass rush… Block Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson and don’t get clobbered by them. You’re welcome.” – Darrell Taylor (probably(

  3. I have been thinking why don’t we have more plays with both Mondre and Henderson in the backfield? They could at least add with a chip block and one, both or neither could run a pattern and be the dump off.

  4. He did this a bunch of times while HC of the Titans as well. He also used to do shit like play with the clock/penalties like Belichick did. He even did against us once.

I love the gamesmanship – he’s playing within the rules and giving his team an edge.

  5. On the opposite side, he may have more intel on their offense and what to exploit. Possible he’s gone up against that O-Line in practice and knows what to leverage (although we know their O-line isn’t scary)

  6. He wouldn’t know the game plan he was released on January 6th before this matchup was even set. Before their last game. But he might know adjustments and calls, things like that.

  7. I remember when Lawyer Milloy went to Buffalo like a week or two before we played them and the Pats got killed. Definitely the first strategy I thought of when we signed this guy

  8. They don’t blitz or disguise. They get consistent pressure with 4 rushers. Not much intel to get. They’re just good at it.

  9. Zolak commented on this earlier. He said pretty simply it’s not really as big of a deal as people make it out to be. This isn’t some double agent spy action. He might be able to offer a little extra insight into some play calling tendencies or signals and such, but probably not info to make any significant difference in the gameplan.

  10. Not uncommon for teams to bring in former players of upcoming opponents.

But this looks more like they believe he can legitimately make contributions to the team on the field. Had a pretty good season for Seattle a couple years ago.

  11. I believe “Vrabs” would be pronounced like “Babs” for someone named Barbara. Vrabes.

  12. I dont think he can really tell us much. The texans whole thing is that they dont disguise coverages. They show you exactly what coverage they’re in and still get to you

On one hand thats good because at least Drake will be able to diagnose the defenses and set protections properly. On the other hand thats very scary because they’re saying they dont care if you know because they’ll still make your life miserable anyway

I think i saw something or heard someone discuss how the texans dont get many sacks or pressures without blitzing which can also be good. If thats the case then having a lot of checkdowns to Rhamnondre or Stevenson will be good for Drake

  13. What happened to this guy? His numbers were really solid in Seattle in his first three years and that was only two seasons ago.
