Evan … this GM is a moron. Tucker is a nice player. If Stearns gives him 50 million, my head will explode. First of all, if he knew what he was doing, we’d have Pete for 3 more years at 90 million … because he SHOULD have given him 4 for 120 last year. And Pete would have jumped at it. So instead of having Alonso on the team for 90 million, he’s ready to give a lesser hitter 150 million?? The sport is still called “BASEBALL” correct? Take a look at total bases since Pete has been in the league. Ohtani / Freeman / Alonso. And Stearns couldn’t wait to get rid of him. You know who’s nowhere on the list? TUCKER!! What does he think Tucker will give us in left field for 50 million? Let’s say 30 HRs 105 RBI. Well Nimmo gave us 25 / 95 for 20 million. So he’s ready to spend an additional 30 million to get 5 more HRs and 10 RBI?? It makes no sense. Forget Tucker. He’s not a difference maker. Just see who we can pick up at the deadline … if we’re not 20 games out. I can’t stand this GM. I will celebrate when he’s fired.
The EVIL GRINCH STINGY STEARNS keeps swinging and missing. PATHETIC, JUST PATHETIC.!!
Wow your listeners are clueless.
We never wanted him
Face it, METS' fans; the EVIL GRINCH STINGY STEARNS had it in for ALONSO since he,unfortunately, came to the METS. HE JUST DIDN'T LIKE ALONSO, FOR SOME BIASED REASON.
I don’t think we ever wanted Suarez. And I don’t think he’s worth it. I’d rather give up a few prospects for Peralta and sign him as he is not a Boras client and more reliable than Suarez and framber
He didn’t hand out the Soto contract cohen did. Just like if we at some point end up with Skubal. It will be all Cohen.
The answer to your question of who will Stearns go big for is probably Skubal next winter. Not that that does anything for the 2026 Mets season, but I'd guess that's the answer. Now if they get a nosebleed at going 9 or 10 years for Skubal then fuck it they'll never sign any big free agent pitchers and this guy really does think he's still running the damn Brewers.
Hence why we didn’t touch the rotation yet…they sign Tucker a pitcher will follow
