I know that original trade probably screwed with him mentally, half of basketball is the mental game and the feeling of betrayal is never going to be easy to get over, I hope someday we get to see this dalton agaib

  1. its crazy how bad he has gotten. like surely you are supposed to improve from your rookie year

  2. Michael Carter Williams had a triple double in his first ever game. Look where he ended up. At this point Dalton is a lost cause at least as a Laker although I wish him the best.

  3. It’s crazy to me that he still hasn’t recovered the one thing he was picked for. His 3pt shooting has been abysmal since the trade debacle.

  4. This narrative again lol.

He played his worst before the trade. Check his stats last season if you don’t believe me. Around December he went nearly an entire month without sinking a single 3. An entire month shooting 0% from 3pt.

For some reason, DK has the longest leash on this sub. Meanwhile, every other player gets turned on based on the last game they played, Luka and Bron included.

  5. I don’t buy the trade messed up him story bc he had good games after that trade happened and he was back with the lakers

I wonder if his shot would come back if he got this many shot attempts in a game again lol

Anyway. Idk what he worked on in the off season

  6. His 3 point shooting has been terrible since that hot streak, outside of a great stretch after he was traded.

So he started extremely well, was bad for a while before the trade, great after the trade, benched in the playoffs due to his defense, and been awful throughout the entirety of this season.

  7. Ppl are lying saying he can’t hoop like before the trade

He and Austin walked into Denver along and got like 30 pc each or something, well after the trade.
I just think he’s unfortunately a rhythm player that needs the ball to get his game off and we need him to be a catch and shoot

  8. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again:

If this dude who’s dream in life was to play in the NBA was completely ignorant to how it works as a business, failed to take a compliment by seeing see how valuable he was as a trade piece to get us a center that we desperately needed and let it completely destroy his game to the point of never recovering, then he was never going to make it in the NBA to begin with.

The truth is he’s your typical streaky shooter that happened to have one great game where he got blazing hot. Since that game he’s struggled to get minutes, struggled to show consistency shooting, can’t defend, and constantly looks lost on the floor.

Can we just let this go already? He just isn’t a good NBA player. Even shitty NBA players can have 1 great game.

  9. Before the trade : (48 games)
    9.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 0.9 apg on .465%/.358% from 3 on 4.5 attempts per game/.825% shooting splits

After the trade: (30 games, not including this season)
    8.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 0.8apg on .456%/.408% from 3 on 4.2 attempts per game/.630% shooting splits

I already know people will still blame the failed trade, but his numbers are pretty similar before and after the trade.

  10. He was asscheeks before the trade. Are you trying to say Michael Flynn is good because he scored 50 once?

  11. He needs to go to a rebuilding team and get more minutes. He’s not gonna develop here playing 0-10 minutes a game. I think he can find his shot again somewhere else, or just send him down til he gets his confidence back and develops some bbiq.

  12. is there a way we can loan him to the hornets next game, past role players always pop off against us

  13. A lot of you guys are forgetting that DK started regressing BEFORE the trade happened. Stop blaming the trade for his funk.

Unless he caught wind of possibly being moved way in advance of the trade deadline, and then his mental catered, I don’t know.

  14. Can we please drop this stupid narrative that the trade ruined him. Let’s ignore the fact after the trade he still played well. The dude is a professional athlete this shit happens all the time grow up and play.

  15. Its crazy how bad we’ve whiffed since pelinka has taken over the last few years. Its also funny in hindsight how much fans dont know shit about college ball, everyone was flaming and saying “we cant pass up on this guy! Hes supposed to go top 10” well, it looks like he was passed up for a reason. Cant do anything but shoot and now he cant even shoot

  16. Makes no sense to me a potential trade would fuck with your head that much. It’s a business. Atleast you’re still in the NBA. Everyone gets traded who gaf. LUKA got traded lmao. Grow up

  17. Mark Williams got over it quick. He’s 75th percentile on EPM, while for comparison Ayton is 41st. Knecht is 25th.

  18. I think the same thing too. He was really good, I remember him as an Austin reaves type. His game honestly fell hard.

  19. The guy had built his reputation in one game with the Lakers. If he did it for Memphis nobody would be expecting much for such a one hit wonder.

  20. I remember this sub wanted to either trade or put Austin on the bench after this game wild times

  21. The mf had a good 3 weeks. His defense was always shit. Started playing poorly leading up to the deadline and obviously fell off a map since. He’ll be out of the league in a couple years

  22. I still believe. He’s going to drop a 30 piece soon. The sub will flip and love him, then he’ll get traded and I’ll be sad 🙁

  23. I think he needs a new environment. DK wasn’t the same since the failed trade. Messed up with his head. I can’t think of any reason why his game just deteriorated.
