Why Are They Doing This?

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens, and the Washington Capitals.. The Caps stormed back to win this one in overtime.. In an impressive victory, and even though I’m happy with the point.. I’m a little annoyed with Lane Hutson’s powerplay deployment over the past couple of games. Lets break this one down!

  1. Credit to the Caps they worked hard and battled back..I'm not saying Lane Hutson on PP1 would've made a difference, but it just seems like the overall correct decision.

    Cheers and thanks for watching.

  2. I would have put Dobson and Hutson (replacing Caufield) on the 5v3. Caufield this year can't score from a certain distance, I dont know why. Especially after the first month, its all silky hands goals in tight or that one goal line shot he does top titty. Worth a try imo

  3. the logic on putting dobson on 1st PP is spreading the talent around. trying to make both of them dangerous. not saying i agree with the choice but that has to the logic. Hutson can make plays happen himself, he can create opportunities

  4. It annoys me when they start playing defense to protect a lead instead of just keep playing the game. It felt like we were on a 4 vs 5 the whole 3rd period …

  5. you monday morning quarterbacks makes me laugh lol.we are doing very good this year and we are the youngest team in the league and WE ARE STILL REBUILDING…but people like you keeps complaining about everything all the time 😅

  6. Not only did the boys get in at 3 AM before that game, and that it was the second game of a back to back, but it was also the fifth game at seven nights, which is absolutely Ludacris! Lol the boys are on fire and they’re doing this proud

  7. Here's my theory. A few days ago, the Habs had an optional on-ice practice. However, they specifically did not allow Hutson to attend this practice. The guy's a Hockeyholic, never can get enough. However, a sudden change in the lineup and lower ice time, I suspect he's hiding a playable injury… They seem to be micro managing his ice time right now, and it can't be because of his performances.. that's just my guess..

  8. I understand taking demi off. Hes been hesitant, flubbing shots and making way to many hope passes that put guys into bad spots. But hes a rookie and hes gonna get past it.

I cannot stand when they do this shit to hutson though. Hes the catalyst on this team. He is the engine and can singlhandedly create more time and space then anyone. I hate when they play these games with him.

  9. Agree about Hutson! And, like you, I love Gallagher — the guy is made of heart, sandpaper and old boot leather — but he's nowhere near power play material anymore. It's just the circle of life. He's leadership material for the younger lads now. I can't help noticing that he seems to have lost a step this season. I mean, who could blame him? His style of play during his career is very, very hard on the body. As my physiotherapist told me when I was rehabbing from ACL surgery years ago when I was 32: "Sorry, man. The warranty is up at 30 for most of us." That didn't feel good to hear, but life unsurprisingly didn't particularly care about my feelings on the matter.

  10. I feel like that game was very basic not to many mistakes just unfortunate that Washington was able to tied it but at least they got a point and the red wings lost so is anybody's game on who is going to lead the division

  11. My TOTs are…When Laine comes back and we can put him on PP2, we don't want to take Demidov and/or Hutson off PP1. When Laine is on PP2, then we need a playmaker to feed him. It seems like Demidov would be the ideal in that role, and have Dobson be PP2 D.

  12. The Habs let off the gas and the Caps took advantage. I was actually a bit disappointed with Suzuki’s game last night (still working out some of the decisions he was making). In your words, Junkie, “at least we got a point”.

  13. Said it on another page but will say it here: the cardiac kids got out-cardiaced, lol! We let them back in the game and missed so many opportunities to put this game away! Monty had an excellent outing and has been consistent in net the past 3-4 games. Hope to see more of this and not a slide back into mediocrity. Go Habs go!
