I wouldn’t hate the pick! If our guys think he’s legit, this is a spot where we can definitely upgrade. Plus if our 3rd from last year pans out, we could have a really strong, rebuilt defensive interior
Awful pick, kid is not a Top 10 pick at all on the DL. His tape does not match that pick
Load up on those clemson boys up front. Probably a slight reach but I’m into it.
Got a glamorous pick but we definitely have a need at this position. I wouldn’t be mad at this if Love, Downs, Bain and Reese are gone.

I’d rather Bailey for the pass rushing ability, but I wouldn’t hate this pick if Tyson, Tate, Bain, Downs, and Reese are off the board.
Please don’t overthink this. If Love is Bijan 2.0, take him.
Just fundamentally against drafting a guy with a top 10 pick who’s gonna play maybe 30 snaps a game and not give you a lot pressure production. Best interior run defender in the class for sure, that has value and its a need. But if you’re gonna take a specialist it needs to be a pass rusher.

I have no reason not to trust whoever Brandon or Kellen select at #8, until they give me a reason not to. Everyone wants to scream Mickey, but you can’t ignore the fact the moment we got a new coaching staff our very next draft was a borderline home run.
Not saying it’s a bad pick because our interior d line needs work big time but I would be happy with literally love, Bain, downs, Tyson, lemon, styles, Bailey over him lol
Im down. This guy is going to be so much better in the NFL and was considered #1 for a time. Not the sexiest but if he can play at a Simmons level for a long period it would be awesome. Great DTs are so hard to hit on so if they do the evals and take him at 8 its a great sign IMO.
He comps to Jeffrey Simmons, and if thats how it works out, that is 100% worth the 8th overall.
How much better is Woods going to be than a league average nose?
By far the biggest thing Staley asks of his interior DL are to maintain their gap to stop the run. You don’t take this kind of player in the top 10. Pressure is created in Staley’s scheme by the edge rushers. Look up Jerry Tillery once Staley got to LA
Everyone will be adjusting their mocks because Dante Moore is going back to the Ducks. If Reese, Bain, Downs are off the board though, I don’t hate the Woods pick but would prefer Faulk.
I fucking HATE this pick! Another underachieving DL or OL with a good RAS and underwhelming stats. Classic Saints pick.
I want one of Downs, Tate, Tyson, or Love. I could probably convince myself Reese or Styles is a good pick, but the Saints would never do that or trade down.
Speed and agility guy, with a good training camp could be an instant starter. I’m okay with it.
Anything that takes attention away from Chase Young is a benefit. Don’t forget we got that 3rd round Texas DL who got hurt. But if we can get a guy like a Jeffrey Simmons, Derrick Brown game wrecker, hell even 75% as good as those guys it will help out Chase and Grandy like crazy.
