Shams: Kings, Mavs have shown interest in Jonathan Kuminga; "several other teams" are in the mix.

Warriors have been prioritizing expiring contracts in return; declining idea of taking back long-term contracts unless it's a "no-brainer" positive value.

  1. We don’t have any expiring contracts that I’m aware of, so unless they’re angling for a Klay return, it doesn’t make much sense

  2. Kuminga
    – doesn’t shoot the 3 consistently
    – doesn’t playmake/pass
    – doesn’t defend
    – we don’t need any more forwards
    – plays the same position as Coop
    – questionable locker room figure
    – will be trying to ” prove himself ” (hijack the offense)

If Finley and Riccardi trade for Kuminga, I’m completely out on them as a duo to lead this Cooper era.

I was already very skeptical of Riccardi since he was second in command to Nico (and promoted by him).

  3. Kuminga is a problem isn’t he? Like he has an attitude problem? I thought i remember reading about him leaving a game or practice or something because he’s not happy about his playing time and was pouting or something. He’s a bad defender also. I don’t know why they Mavs would want to bring someone like that in. That’s not really the kind of culture or player that’s gonna help.

Or maybe that was Draynond who walked off the court. Lol they’ve got a few people like that.

  4. I think the interest is just that they can test him out next to Coop and can be an expiring contract if they dont see a fit. A guy that can’t shoot, not much of a defender, and wants the ball in his hands, is not a good fit next to Coop.

  5. I wouldn’t mind Kuminga for the right price, but he just seems like the kind of player Kidd fucking hates. He’ll get the DLO, Wood and McGee experience within half a season lol

  6. If the warriors give a pick up to take I would do it, then try to flip him in the off-season. Don’t want him long term.

  7. It would be in an MPJ deal and I don’t see the Nets having interest in any of the Mavs players. Nor should the Mavs send their guys to Brooklyn

  8. Kuminga is one of those players where the idea is way better than the reality. I don’t see it
