[Collins] Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes says if he gets a new offensive coordinator, he wants someone one who brings new ideas every day.

  1. I was pleasantly surprised at how Mahomes avoided giving Andy Reid glowing grades on his playcalling, design and system this past year. And for good reason. Andy’s playcalling this season was total shit. He needs to modernize and adapt. Period.

Mahomes knows. If we know it, then believe me, Mahomes knows too.

  2. Thank you. Notice how miserable hes been the past couple years? Hes tired of running the same unimaginative shit every game.

  3. He also said he wants someone who holds people accountable which I think is telling.

  4. Mahomes has looked miserable relaying play calls for the past two seasons. Reid is lucky Mahomes is mature enough to not force him out and get him fired.

The number of times he would turn to the sideline and start yelling after a Pacheco 1 yard carry was too damn high.

Throw it all in the trash. It’s time for an entire new offense.

  5. Mahomes is the kid begging for something different for dinner as Andy puts leftovers on the table year after year.

  6. Sounds like he’s a no on EB and maybe Kafka as well

Question is if he forces the issue internally. He can have as much sway as any QB in an organization in a long time if he wants it. If you’re Clark Hunt you’re not going to get on the wrong side of your superstar money maker QB all because your coach wants to run it back with a plan that already failed last year

Truth be told I think Andy knows there needs to be change but Pat voicing his opinion should dissuade him from hiring one of “his guys” instead of a fully independent voice from a different system

  7. Pat said a lot with this. This man has been getting killed the past 3 seasons. HELP HIM OUT

  8. My takeaway is that he’s sick of the extremely bland and predictable Nagy offense.

I know somebody is going to jump in and say “but but it’s all Andy!” Stop. Just stop. We have all seen the steady offensive decline under Nagy. He wouldn’t have been at that position had he not had major influence over the offense as a whole. I don’t care what Alex Smith said, he hasn’t been with the team for 8 years. He wasn’t here for the entirety of the Eric Bieniemy OC tenure, nor the return of Nagy. He simply doesn’t know.

  9. Get this guy someone who can design an actual run game, and then get this team a couple B+ or higher running backs, and I can almost guarantee you that solves 80% of our offensive problems right there

  10. I see somewhat of a power struggle brewing. Granted I don’t have inside knowledge, but from what has been said publicly. It is clearly Andy vs Mahomes in terms of influence inside the organization. Andy is fine running things back with his guys over and over again. And Mahomes wants innovation and change.

  11. Bout time Mahomes start indirectly making demands get us a new OC. We don’t need someone in house or someone who has been here before

  12. put your foot down (on the good leg) on this one, Pat, you are the only person who can dictate above Andy

  13. I liked it when Mahomes and Kelce played backyard football style early on. “Coach called for a crossing pattern, but just get open and I’ll get you the ball.”

  14. McDaniel or Kingsbury. Not sure how many more years Andy wants to coach, but getting a new OC that could be the future HC seems like a solid idea.
