Orioles Miss Out on Ranger Suarez! Now Framber Valdez or BUST? | Vinny & Haynie

Ranger Suarez is headed to the Red Sox. The Baltimore Orioles missed out on a top-tier rotation piece after Suarez signed a 5-year, $130M deal with our division rivals in Boston.

Now, all eyes turn to Framber Valdez. Can Mike Elias pull off some “Orioles Magic” and land arguably the best remaining starting pitcher to pair with the Pete Alonso signing? If the O’s can’t land another ace, can this roster truly compete with the Red Sox and Yankees in 2026?

Vinny & Haynie break down the fallout of the Suarez deal and what the Orioles’ plan B must be.

What do you think? Is it Framber or bust, or is there another name Mike Elias should target?

  1. The Orioles had 5a yr/$130 million offer to Ranger Saurez before Boston. I don’t think Ranger wanted to pitch in Baltimore, and to my understanding, his agent was adamant about 7yrs.

  2. If Elias brings in Gallon, Giolito, or Bassett, it will be a total failure getting that top Ace The O's desperately need! I don't believe O's make post with this rotation or the retreads the O's are looking at now! He should be FIRED for it!

  3. Framber Valdez has a record of 0-2 with an ERA of 7.22 and 29 strikeouts in 6 appearances against the Yankees throughout his career. Cade Povich has a 0-2 record with an ERA of 4.58 and 14 strikeouts in 4 appearances against the New York Yankees in his career. – StatMuse. I'm thinking we can turn what we've got into wins this year.

  4. I honestly think Cease was Elias’s guy. He has been in love with his “stuff” for years.

Once Toronto blew the market away with a seven year deal I feel like Elias just doesn’t love the free agent market for starters this year.

I’m still hoping for a big trade to go down!

    Go Birds!!!!!
