This is exactly how I feel

  1. Haven’t heard anything about Nagy aside from interviewing him. Where’s the smoke?

  2. I mean, he’s actually very knowledgeable and his play designs aren’t that bad. He can get guys open.

    – me next week when they announce it

  3. I can’t believe Bergonzi would make such a mistake. I really think it’s gonna be either Salah or stefanski, with Mike McCarthy a strong possibility.

  4. I think hysterical group think has convinced people that he’s a shitty candidate. I’m not saying he’s better than anyone else being interviewed, but it’s wild to see people heap praise on candidates who’ve done far less while shitting on Nagy.

  5. If Borgonzi makes that decision, I trust that it’s the right one.

If you’re comparing this to #LetRanCook, keep in mind Borgonzi has already proven to build a team that stuck together and improved over the course of a season that was lost from the start, against the hardest schedule in the league, and with several promising rookies in his first draft class.

He clearly has a rebuild formula, and if he thinks Nagy understands it better than anyone else, so be it. He obviously knows more about Nagy than the rest of us.

  6. Nah there was just as much smoke around the Titans hiring Jon-Eric Sullivan last year for the GM job, NFL news cycles are all about lies until actual numbers are provided

  7. If this is the hire, this is an unserious franchise. Nagy wasn’t a good head coach, and wouldn’t have a coordinator job if not for Andy Reid. Nagy’s sole winning season in Chicago was carried by a Vic Fangio defense. Nagy coached a 22nd ranked offense while Fangio coached a 3rd ranked defense that year. I will reserve my judgement until a decision is actually made versus speculation, but my gosh, this shouldn’t even be speculation.

  8. It was always going to be him. There are too many connections to him here.

Just have to hope for the best.

  9. I wasn’t excited about the Vrabel hire and I was excited about Callahan. So maybe they need to hire someone I wouldn’t be excited about.

  10. What if the smoke is Nagy wants to separate himself from Reid and Mahomes and is going to be Mccarthys OC?

  11. Honestly don’t think enough national reporters care enough about us to have good sources…

  12. You know what I’m gonna do? I’m not going to get upset over something that hasn’t happened. Stop getting worked up by rumors and dumbass tweets.

  13. I still think if Borgonzi hires Nagy, he’s essentially staking his own job on his success. Hiring “his guy” is a death sentence if he doesn’t work out

  14. Whether people want to admit it or not, we’re all just regurgitating the crap we hear on podcasts, sports shows, social media, etc. Realistically, we know next to nothing about these candidates. We only see them in press conferences or at games, but we never get to see them work M-S. We do have plenty of data to review, but most people misuse or misinterpret it. 99.9% of us do not have the knowledge, experience, or skill even to know how good or bad a candidate is. Hell, none of us truly know what the job entails.

It cracks me up how pissed people say they will be if X coach gets hired. Why?! You won’t know whether it’s a good or bad hire for 1-2 years. Hold off on getting mad until something bad actually happens. I don’t care who they hire, I just hope it works out.

  15. I don’t think I can keep doing this. If we hire Nagy I’m one foot out the door. I’ve been a fan since we first set foot in Adelphia Coliseum and this shit is hardly entertaining anymore.

Although there hasn’t been many articles written about Nagy and the Titans, one thing for certain is that those within the NFL look out for one another so I wouldn’t be surprised if Wes is onto something here.

  16. Is there any smoke other than the Nagy/Borg connection from KC? They’ve interviewed like 16 guys since him, and I haven’t seen one thing about him after his interview.

  17. Bears fan coming in peace. I grew up 2 hours north of Nashville in Kentucky and my brother is a Titans fan. I’m in Chicago now and a bears fan though and through, but I like to chat with my Brother about Titans football as well.

I’d rather see you guys hire. Mike McCarthy than a guy like Nagy. However, I don’t think Nagy would be an awful hire. The key would be does he have the connections to get good coordinators. He’s a decent, offensive play caller, but he tries to fit guys too much to his scheme instead of the other way around. If he can adapt his scheme to the talent you guys have then I think he’s got the chance to be a pretty decent coach. He definitely has the inspirational coach aspect of it down. That first season with the Bears I wanted to run through a brick wall for the guy. He was also saddled with a terrible quarterback in Mitch Trubisky.

He wouldn’t be my first option but I don’t think he’s the worst option either.

  18. I like Nagy…he runs a high tech offense in KC with Mahomes and he was HC of the year when he was with the Bears….It’s a great hire actually,he needs to hit home runs with his OC and DC though and hire Bones to be his special teams coach…
Harbaugh would have been awesome, but he’s really old..63 I think and Nagy is 46 I think….Like Mike McDaniel for the Titans as HC if they whiff on Nagy

  19. I’m resigned to it but I’m not happy about it. It would be extremely disappointing if that were the case, and would make me look at Borgonzi in a different way. Unless we start winning like crazy, in which case I will say I supported it all along and I knew how it would play out.

  20. What is the obsession with him. I get we always expect the worst, but i really just don’t see him coming here.

  21. I cannot wait until it’s *anyone* else. All of these people who are prematurely freaking out about it are going to look so stupid.

  22. Borgonzi might be next on the chipping block if this happens.

No amount of copium will get me there on Nagy.
