1. Every TV "expert" thinks they need to rebuild. They're wrong. Rooney is correct. A rebuild is not needed. Just add a 2nd WR1 and watch the sparks fly. Defenses cannot dbl team both leaving one on one in single man coverage. One or both will be open in zone coverage. Defenses can no longer crowd the LoS b/c the LBs now need to cover the middle of the field. This reduces QB pressure and opens the running game. All this leads to more first downs, more points, and increased time of possession. Lastly, the Steelers defense gets more rest and only defends ~45 plays per game versus ~65.

5. Bro it’s definitely a rebuild hopefully it’s not a long one.
   Lately 1st round picks have been misses and busts

7. Honestly I agree with Art to an extent. Steelers have some good young pieces in place. The big thing is the QB. They get a QB with a younger, modern, creative coaching staff who can develop the QB, Steelers can be contenders very quickly. I want to see Will Howard. Everyone writes him off, but the kid has never played a snap.

8. He can call it whatever he wants but if they keep just putting band aids on everything, they’ll keep spinning their wheels. It’s 2026, not 1974. Players don’t care about coaches – today’s players are disrespectful. They don’t want to hear the same voice over and over and over. 20 year head coaches are a thing of the past.

9. Stallworth was a HOF player – Swann wasn’t. His numbers are minuscule.

12. Noll insisted on drafting the “best athlete “ available at the time. They didn’t draft by position, but rather place players based on their skills.

13. Tanking is not the Steelers way! There’s no shortcut to success! If there was the Browns would be a super team because they always have a great draft pick.

14. It took a 6-10 year to get Ben.

    Then it took a Maddox injury to get Ben on the field, and they went 15-1. Granted, the defense was phenomenal. But how long would they have kept Ben on the bench if Maddox doesn’t get hurt?

    That being said, I say make Will Howard the starter next year, let him see what he can do. He could be the next Big Ben, but he needs the opportunity.

19. As a life long Steelers fan for 30 of my 35 years. I'm willing to have a few losing seasons to get a bunch of young talent and rebuild. It's inevitable and better sooner than later

20. Then the status quo is your ceiling. There's no trophy for having a winning record by 1 game every year. Tear it down.

21. If he doesn't want to rebuild then we just need to stop watching their games all together… Art Rooney is a big part of the problem why we were going 9-8 each year and not winning a playoff game… It seems like he's still going to be a problem even now Tomlin is gone…

23. I agree with Mr. Rooney. With the right new head coach, staff, a good draft and free agent picks anything can happen. This was a 10 – 7 team with some very questionable losses. Gainwell was a great pickup and Rodgers had his moments. Slade, Smith and to some degree Ramsey were poor pickups. We have seen teams with much less make big leaps.

24. Here's the big difference between Cowher & Tomlin: Playoff games won without Big Ben – Tomlin: 0 Cowher: 7 – and those QB wins? Neil O' Donnell, Kordell Stewart, Tommy Maddox – Not much better than the QB's under center since 2019. There's no comparison.

25. Thank You Coach you already ARE missed. Very Hollow feeling when you Stepped down. But I do understand. SteelerNation is a spoiled bunch. Spoiled spoiled spoiled. But But But… we've lost 7 strait playoff games..(you rather have MISSED the playoffs in those seasons ???)

    We lost 3 or 4 games we were just outmatched (qualifying with teams that prov shouldn't have been IN , but you overachiever for the COACH they Loved. ) other losses we had stupid Turnovers in excess or at terrible times (ask Mendenhalll or Toussaint or Big Ben or Pouncey)

26. Perfect way to say it. Contending with what I consider a positive in AR trade, looking at defense , to waste a year in any way by saying , we're gonna go broke pulling hands and a cannon in, or load up back field and pocket, I think the competitiveness of availability and adding to positions or target areas of improvement or concentration to a strategy for a season, way more sound.

27. Tomlin had Art fooled into believing they were “Contending” hahahhaha I’m gonna miss watching Tomlin getting smoked in the wildcard round🤣🤣🤣
