Why the Bengals Are PERFECTLY Positioned to Lock Down Their Core This Offseason
The Cincinnati Bengals have a chance this offseason to lock up foundational pieces to long-term deals—something we’ve asked them to do for years.
James Rapien and Jake Liscow break down why DJ Turner II and Dax Hill should top the extension priority list after breakout campaigns and strong leadership on defense. The guys also dig into past mistakes the Bengals hope to avoid, the potential approach and timeline for new deals, why the front office may hesitate to extend Chase Brown given the running back market, and discuss additional players like Orlando Brown Jr. and Myles Murphy who could be in line for new deals. Plus, how getting ahead on contracts could save the team money and promote stability for years to come.

You guys have to do your jobs. I get it. But the Bengals aren't going to get in front of anything. The better the player, the more nasty it will get. The contracts with league average guys will go smooth. It's literally how not to do it. If it makes sense, we won't do it. If it doesn't make sense, we will. It's just a dreadful organization.
Locking down their "core" just means another losing season – you guys do see that…. right?
I wouldn’t resign any of the cb’s 🤷🏾♂️ let them prove it or at least get package deals for them
Unfortunately, as long as Mike is making the final decision , the Bengals aren't going to risk pushing money to dead years. It is what it is .
The only thing they will be getting out in front of will be a tractor trailer because there are a lot of teams they have to overcome to get back to where they once were.
I'm always hesitant to resign a guy that only plays well when he's up for a contract. I would not sign them early. Make em prove it and draft one if you get a good value.
I get it your a bengals reporter but all this bengals being well positioned is a load of nonsense. You know what they are going to do this year look at last year and the year before that and the year before that. Sure the stars aligned and through years of losing the got joe burrow and got into the superbowl but I'm pretty sure that was just luck.
I’m in the camp of getting Dax & Turner signed asap. They both are solid players entering their prime with an upward trajectory. Get it done.
Will Katie learn her lesson and not drag contract talks out? Prolly not but it would be good if she did
Turner is a pro bowl alternate and in his mid 20s. He will command over 20m per year. Dax is also a young starting corner plus first round pick. He will require 18-19m per year. Chase Brown is ready to get 10-12m per year. Those three take a big chunk out of the cap. Still what they should do but will anybody accept that they can’t do as much after.
One glaring problem with getting in front of it to save money is this: if they sign Turner to a 4 year 80m deal, then the cb position blows up and the top 10 guys are getting 35-40 per, he will hold out for a raise just like Trey. Remember they got out in front of that one .
My pick for SB is pats beat Seahawks. Not that I really care.

Chase Dax and DJ need extensions literally right now before free agency even gets close
The Bengals will find a way to Bengal because they’re the Bengals.
Mr Brown will make the decision that's right for the team. Go MB 👑
