  1. To be fair, what the dodgers are doing is ridiculous. I don’t think anyone thought it would be like this at the time.

  2. Tucker and Duran are about the same WAR per year. This is a different type of nuts than Soto or Ohtani. He might be better than Duran but this is an insane contract.

  3. So god damn what. The Dodgers will not win every damn year. Things happen. Things can happen. Injuries etc etc. LGSox.

  4. I mean, they’ve done a really solid job of improving the team this offseason.

What the Dodgers are doing is just next level.

  5. Stats used to be such a good follow, but they’ve fallen off a ton in the last few years. I get that it’s been frustrating but that entire account has just turned into a 24/7 bitchfest.

The Sox could sign Bichette tomorrow and they’d still find a way to complain about it.

  6. I don’t understand the point of this post besides to whine. Owners cry poor a lot, but what the Dodgers are doing is genuinely impossible for other teams to replicate. This is a wildly over-market contract for Tucker, even on a short deal

  7. This.

This post right here is why we can’t have nice things.

Maybe 36 hours after the Suarez signing had us all relieved that the team was spending money and now we’ve got statistically the best rotation in the game.

We weren’t in the market for Tucker, we’re probably looking to *move* an OF instead of *add* one, ***who fucking cares*** *how much money the Dodgers threw at Tucker*? We’ve *built* the foundation. Now we just need a bat and another IF (dealer’s choice if it’s 2B or 3B), even better if they’re the same guy, *why the fuck are we grinding axes about the last GM* besides ragebait clicks?

  8. I’m not sure I remember anyone saying this, I thought they said payrolls would increase but never to the level of the Dodgers.

The thing I admire about the Dodgers, besides the enormous budget, is they use free agents to fill holes so they have a really good farm system on top of the talented roster.

I think this boom and bust thing the Red Sox do ends up more expensive than maintaining consistent quality. It’s like studying for a test, it’s easier and more effective to study a little bit everyday compared to cramming the night before.
