Vance Joseph focuses on stopping Josh Allen, not head coaching opportunities

  1. Hoping Vance can create a game plan that will stop Josh Allen and propel the broncos into the next round. Beyond that I’m hoping that Vance finds his dream job!!!

  2. Do any of the open positions scream success? If Joseph is interested in finding success as a HC which of the teams available would offer the best opportunity?

  3. “It’s flattering, but it speaks to the entire program,” Joseph said of all the phone calls. “I think when teams want to hire a coach from a winning program, they want the recipe.”

  4. I’ve been a VJ fan even when he was HC. I think in recent interviews he’s very self aware of what his mistakes were as the HC of Denver and I hope he gets another shot.

That said I hope he gets another shot with a SB ring from Denver

  5. Win a Super Bowl as DC or take over as HC a team that is in such shambles they just fired their HC. The choice seems pretty clear.

  6. I hope he’s smart and doesn’t dive into a dumpster fire organization. Hope he looks at $$$ to stay.

  7. Random-ish thoughts incoming:
It is interesting how much ownership matters. I know there are exceptions, but generally speaking, it seems like the same 4-8 teams are consistently firing coaches, have a QB carousel, etc over a wide span of years or even decade+. It ebbs and flows, of course because the NFL is very good at creating parody. With that said, a team like AZ has historically not been good. I can understand wanting the title and prestige that comes with being a head coach at the top level. But damn, do these guys (like VJ) really think they can change the culture and re-build quick enough and effectively enough to not get canned within 3-4 years, knowing the history of the organization? For his sake, I hope he can do it and this is his 2nd stint as HC, so that’s helpful. But if he does get fired, then what…back to being a DC somewhere (like Fangio, Saleh, Arthur Smith, etc).
Circling back to the ownership point…the Broncos could, if they wanted to retain VJ, pay him whatever he would need to stay. That would be cool. And if not, I also trust the organization to bring in a great DC to replace VJ. So, whatever haha.

  8. The NFL and NFLPA really need to agree on a coaching free agent period that starts after the season is over. IMO it’s absurd that coaches are interviewed for open roles during the playoffs, especially since it’s often the teams who are in the playoffs whose coaching staff is raided.

  9. I hope thats the case. As of right now he’s still the DC for the Denver Broncos.

  10. If the Broncos make the Super Bowl and their defense is a big factor he’s a lock to get a job anyway. Just win

  11. I already feel guilty for us injuring Josh and beating them with their backup QB. Is that normal?

  12. “You can’t stop him, you can only hope to contain him.” Figuring out how to slow down James Cook will be the key. Allen is going to find room over the middle, their TEs and Shakir, but if we can slow Cook down that’s going to be huge

  13. First paragraph…”Vance Joseph interviewed with five teams during the Denver Broncos’ bye week in his quest for a second crack at an NFL head coaching job.”

  14. That’s what they all say and the day after a team is eliminated they’re at their introductory press conference

  15. Vs this bills defense with their pre/post snap moves, hoping bo nix’ processing really shines.
