[McAuley] The Braves also announced that LHP Jose Suarez was claimed on waivers by the Orioles. He was a multi-inning relief option they were hoping to drop from the 40-man and then stash in Triple-A Gwinnett as organizational depth.

I’m sad to see him go. Guy stunk for us early on, got DFA’d, stuck around, and then came back to make a hell of a start for us in September. Seven innings, two runs.
That’s the kind of guy I like having around. He puts the work in.
*Added* Had to look it up. It was a game 1 of a double-header against the Nats and definitely the game we expected to lose because Chris Sale was pitching game 2. Game 2 was a shutout. But Suarez put seven innings, nine strikeouts, two walks, and two runs. It was completely unexpected he would deliver that hard.
Did I miss when or why we dropped Suarez from the 40 man to begin with? I don’t remember seeing it in any recent moves unless I missed something.
My dream of starting Ranger Suárez, then bring in José Suárez in relief and let Robert Suárez close the game (all three of the Venezuelan, mind you) has been crushed in just a couple of days.
