  1. Best 50-50 receiver in history.

    I still have his jersey.

My opinion: he was the second greatest offensive player in Panthers history.

    Thomas Davis on Defense.

  2. God, this brings back such good memories. I was a freshman in high school. In my young PRIME as a panthers fan.

Watching Smitty torch this vaunted defense was so fucking awesome. Best WR I’ve seen pound for pound.

  3. The more I watch old clips, the more BY9 reminds me of Delhomme. Not the biggest or best arm, but found a way and was clutch.

  4. Huge Cam fan – obviously- but there was something different about watching that Jake to Smitty connection. Maybe it’s a nostalgia thing, but damn they were fun to watch!

  5. 1st clip is just straight disrespectful lol. He slowed down just to make Mike Brown look stupid.

  6. I was at that game! One of the best Panthers games I’ve ever been to. Went up to Chicago with Broach Sports Tours. Smitty was a beast that night

  7. They do not make them like Steve Smith anymore. Was talking shit the whole time and more than backing it up.

  8. That 40-yard bomb dropping right into the bread basket as Smitty crosses the plane hit like crack. What a throw.

  9. Love me some Smith. After what we’ve been through, seeing some of these passes really gets me appreciating Jake more.

  10. Our 05 team’s SOOO underrated.

Honestly if we had a few breaks and Seattle lost in the playoffs somehow, we prob woulda serriously had a solid shot at that Super Bowl. We woulda had to fight the same crap refs Seattle had to deal with but we were a tougher team in tight spots. Seattle wasn’t really battle prepped properly like we were that year. We fought for so much of what we won that year (won a lot of thrillers, beat New England,) Seattle rolled over people and weren’t used to people fighting back. Pittsburgh was good but they were beatable. I think we could have if we stayed focused.

Always the greatest what if imo.
