  3. Does it really matter who we want for OC? Shiela's purse strings, Brad and and Dan's imput and whether their choices will accept the paycheck offer will determine who that will be.

  4. The OC position for the Lions is more appealing than Philadelphia. Detroit has a cohesive unit that only needs a couple of tweaks to the O Line. Philly has a good O-line but what does the run game look like next year after regressing with the same pieces this year? The WR room will have a shake-up and is already dysfunctional. Hurts has good balance running and passing but his pass game just doesn't do it for a high powered offense.

  5. Enjoy your podcasts, Mike. Love the passion. As for the Lions OC, the most important thing that is happening right now as we speak, is that there is MASSIVE pressure on Brad and Dan to get the selection right. There is no cap issue, so money is not a problem. I'll bet Shiela will gladly pay a top fight coach. That means there is nothing – absolutely nothing – preventing Brad and Dan from getting the right guy. They also have to know that, if they get it wrong, they could be out the door. That is especially true if the Eagles land McDaniel. Braylon Edward's had it right. Just ask McDaniel what it will take and do it. I also don't think the fact that Ben Johnson and the Bears are outperforming expectations this years helps the atmosphere in Allen Park. More pressure. Frankly, I think it's great to see Lions fans demanding more. Brad read his press clippings too much and got arrogant. I don't think we'll be hearing about receipts or seeing villain hoodies very soon. The off-season should actually be fun to watch.

  6. I believe Orlovsky is the "Exception That Proves the Rule" … He's been preparing for such an opportunity for years and has the potential ability to be very successful in his first year (The second year will be more difficult for him after he's been scrutinized by the league's DCs in the off season … He's a hidden gem … Most folks will only think in terms of what has already been successful and choose from that area … That (at best) brings you second place … Jeff Saturday was ill-prepared for the challenge he got, but not Orlovsky, he's up and ready to kick arse, we need to get in on that energy if we do not land a few obvious others ……….

  7. Holmes does not compete with any zeal in free agency to get personnel. That requires competing with other gung-ho GMs who are much more aggressive. The hiring of John Morton was a perfect example; Holmes took a guy who was easy to hire, cheap, and in his lap, not the best by any stretch. The lions treated Morton like a development project — another Manu. Now we have a roster and coaching staff full of development projects — not a team full of experts.

  8. I think that before we dismiss the possibility of the Lions drafting a guard in the first round, we need to see if they move Ratledge over to center this year, and then we would need another solid right guard. Campbell did say in his final press conference that the idea is that Ratledge was to be our future center.

  9. This organization is known for making incompetent decisions when it comes to general management for example hiring matt Patricia and the list go's on

  10. Lets not forget Roseman has arguably the best ownership group in the game led by owner Dan Laurie.. since he took over in 1994 they have four NFC conference championships, 4 Super bowl appearances two super bowl titles, 12 division titles and 20 playoff appearances in 32 seasons.. of course potential OC's are going to talk to them.. would you? hahaha

  11. N i wouldn’t ever take an offensive coordinator from Steelers, the offense has always been old and stale. Give me Mike D. Or someone from the S. McVAY tree Rams and Seahawks have been a pain in the @$$ for our defense last couple of years.
