Buccaneers Interview Danny Smith for Special Teams Coordinator

  1. Theres not enough gum in Tampa for that man. Pittsburgh had to have truckloads brought in for games.

  2. It does suck that Danny most likely chewed his last wad on the Steelers sideline. Especially since he’s a local guy. But I wouldn’t fault him for going to a warmer weather team for his pre-retirement.

  3. Man I’m gonna be really sad if he leaves but I get it, get your bag and retire to Florida.

  4. Dam man I don’t want him to leave. Secure the bag by all means tho! I hope we can keep him

  5. I’m just being honest here, because I do like him and everything. Do we even want to keep him? Our special teams was awful this year

  6. I feel like a lot of why we like him is how excited on the sidelines he gets and his massive amounts of gum chewing.

Our special teams, outside Boswell, have been pretty average, I think? Unless I am missing something

  7. If he didn’t aggressively chew huge wads of gum, would anyone give a fuck about him? Highly doubt it. We rarely have big special teams plays

  8. I understand his popularity and he’s done a good job but if he does go then I can live with it. The new HC should be able to bring in as many positional coaches of his choosing as he wants.

  9. LOL, Danny Smith was as good at his job as the rest of the Steelers coaches who will find themselves unemployed. I recall Baltimore returning a kick to almost midfield on the drive where Loop missed the field goal. People also wanted to launch him into the sun early in his Steelers coaching career, specifically when Josh Scobee was sucking ass in 2015.

  10. Seems like a good guy, but other than Boz and Skowranek our special teams has been average for a long time.
