1. I really hope not. Petey is the main reason I became a Canucks fan. Whether he returns to form or not, he'll always be one of my favorite Canucks.

3. No, we don’t have any potential 1C in the system nor are any of the top picks this year Cs. If we can get a full pay deal with a potential elite C prospect and a 1st round pick sure but I don’t see who would pay that price

5. I’m not sure how people think we will be competitive in 3 years. We need to stop over valuing our prospects. Who do we have that’s not on the team right now? Cootes Romani and Patterson? The rest already look like busts to me. Maybe Medvedev works out, definitely not in 3 years though. We will be lucky to be close to a playoff spot in 5 years

6. His 100 point season was an outlier. He doesn't suck but he's not elite. His contract is preventing the team from getting him the proper line mates that people say he needs. He and his agent definitely fleeced the Canucks, and limited their options in a hard cap league. You would think he would use the criticism as fuel to ascend and level up but it seems like he just doesn't have the fire in him. Personally, it makes me sad how he divided the fan base. If he can't put the team on his back and drag them to a cup, I think its healthier for everyone if they trade him. That said, I've seen the way Allvin talks about him. He truly believes in him and wants him to be a part of the Swedish legacy of the Canucks. Even though I don't agree, I could see them giving him the Captaincy and try to see if that motivates him to level up finally. We'll see what happens I guess.

14. He has a no trade clause. If Petey doesn't want to go he doesn't go. He blew up this team and all we really got from EP40 was that he didnt want to leave Vancouver. Doesn't really matter what the team wants to do with their core, they gave them all no trade clauses.

    – They need a leader for all the young guys, especially the Swedes
    – How to replace a centre like that? You can’t
    – Need a franchise player to sell tickets, keep interest
    – Need to reach cap floor after they sell off all the other vets

24. EP40 can be a 100 pt guy, except he’s got nobody he can pass to in order to get 60 assists atm and by the time the Canucks do have those guys again, he’ll be at the end of his career. If the Canucks are looking at 18 year olds to be their saviours, Petterson is too old to be part of this journey.

25. If you trade him, you aren't really sending a good message to the team or the fanbase. The 11.6 AAV by default hurts his trade value, and don't expect to win a trade moving him. On the other hand, not trading him begs the question whether he even returns to that 100-point player, which is also a risk. Hate to say it, it's a lose/lose situation.

26. You want to know what happened a bozo head coach and management that took short term gain over players long term health. Tochet said just little tendinitis it’s nothing, but he lost his skating speed for almost 3 seasons and it’s not his “ training habits”. 29. If we can trade him for some good returns and he gets a chance to play in a team that can win, then it's a win win for everybody. Even though it would be great to keep him, Canucks aren't winning much in the next few years, it would be a shame to watch him play his prime years for a non-contending team.
