13. I'm okay with not getting Tucker at that price. A bad contract is a burden. The ownership is committed to spending money and the money will be used elsewhere picking up contracts other teams are looking to unload and being active at the trade deadline after seeing the team for half the year.

19. Unfortunately this is not surprising. Even when Bo hit the three run homer in game 7 of the World Series he was not excited. He already made up his mind he was leaving the Jays. His loss – the Blue Jays are a great team playing in a great city and country.

20. I still like this team's chances, better pitching and if everyone plays to the same level they did last season they'll be fine. I've been watching baseball for decades, nothing is consistent from one season to the next, the Jays have a great line-up and if players stay healthy and play to their maximum potentials, I don't see why they can't win the East this season. There are always trades as well, the Jays should be able to go get a left handed bat if they need one, personally before I condemn their season, I'll wait and see what they look like on the field, at least give them a chance to show what they're made of this season. Go Jays.

22. with salaries gone berserk nobody can blame Bichette for cashing in because it can't go on like this much longer – lockout coming in 2027. Everybody knocks Bo for defense but the Jays could have moved him to second base and he would no doubt have performed better. They can't expect to replace Bichette's clutch hitting but they've added slug with Okamoto and they'll have outstanding defense again all around. The all-knowing pundits have been calling Okamoto's defense a liability – based on what? The guy won not 1, but 2 gold gloves at third in the NPB – a league with a very high standard for defensive play.
    The reality is that some contracts are going to be a bust, and especially with pitchers if you keep running out a guy that can't perform it's going to hurt your team way more than at any other position – in this case it cost the Blue Jays the World Series and it was entirely predictable. If the Jays bring back Hoffman as their closer they are idiots – because idiots can't learn from their mistakes.

    Bo is worth the amount of money he's getting paid more than Kyle is worth his.

    And SS has to throw it further at times than the third baseman does.

42. I hope I don’t see anyone saying this was a bad off season. The jays played it basically perfectly. Other teams were willing to play idiotic prices for bo and tucker. So obviously they weren’t going to attempt to match that, that would be dumb. So they pivoted, got okamoto, and a ton of pitching. Making our team better.
