  1. The Dodgers payroll this year will be close to last year. Ohtani wanted that deal with ANY team he met with, not just the Dodgers. And all the tax money they are paying is going to the poverty teams.

  2. Are this 2 idiots high? Comparing the NBA and NFL to MLB in 5 years just because the dodgers won back to back to fit their narrative. How about 10 years? or 20 years? Why only 5? Its because MLB have different winner every year compare to NFL and NBA

  3. At this point, I have to think Russo and these other media pundits are puppets for these billionaire owners. It's literally public info that these "small market" teams crying poor are spending around 30% of their revenue on payroll, while the Dodgers are spending 73%. The Marlins, White Sox, Rays, Pirates, etc., of the world CAN spend 2-3x more than they currently are (to spend percentage-wise around the Dodgers' level), but they CHOOSE not to, to pocket more revenue into the billionaire owners' pockets. The Dodgers are not the problem here…

  4. Man guys, the Dodgers juggernaut did not happen overnight. When Guggenheim bought the team, it was in real trouble. They've spent 15 years building a dynasty. Yeah, the Pirates can't compete with that. But they might be able to if they had a long term plan. The Rays figure out a way to compete every year.

  5. The other MLB ballclubs that refused to overhaul or make better themselves are cheating their fans!!! They kept on receiving their fans money but cannot deliver championship to their fans!

  6. Truth be told, baseball does better when the big markets are doing well. Last year's world series got the highest TV ratings in a long time. Nobody watches when the small market teams get to the world series. Baseball needs the big markets to draw attention.

  7. Patrick says "you can go worst to first in football, but you can't do that in baseball." I seem to recall Toronto was the worst this past season and went to first."

  8. Ohtani would have deferred for Jays, too. So itโ€™s not like heโ€™s doing for Dodgers only. Other players could defer, too; they just wonโ€™t. Too bad. Kudos for Dodgers!

  9. If they implement a salary cap because all the other teams and their fans complain so much,it will be known as the year that the rest of the league and their fans showed what jealous pathetic losers they are for not competing instead. The type of sad losers everyone else is, its like watching coach Klein in high heels scream into an unplugged phone receiver. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. There is some good that will come of this for Los Angeles as a whole. The players will know and all of Los Angeles will know that we will be able to brag forever that the rest of the league banned together out of jealousy to stop the Dodgers success rather then actually compete. Every WS after we in Los Angeles can make fun of it for life if anyone else wins it! We will call it the asterisk championships! So yeah, turn the players against your teams. It will only make them want to play for L.A. even more. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  10. Most NY reporters are so biased. If it were the Mets or NY Yankees it would be the best thing in the World. The Yankees suck and have for years making mistake after mistake and that doesnโ€™t matter???? Now they have Bischette and theyโ€™re a great team?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Not true. And theyโ€™re jealous out of their minds that LA has an actual great team. The Mets spent more than the Dodgers last year and you donโ€™t hear a beep about it. So uncool and unfair.

  11. All these baseball "savants" coming out with this brain dead "Dodgers are ruining baseball" take are just baffling to me. How about we talk about billionaire owners clutching their wallets and not wanting to folk out the liquid? Look at what the Tigers are doin to Skubal now $19m? Are you kidding me? But when the Dodgers swoop in they're the bad guys right? I don't here the same noise directed towards the New York Rats though.

  12. Its bad for baseball? Yet you only want to see Yankees,Mets, Red Sox Dodgers in the world Series
When a small market team makes it
    No body watches
    Same goes for basketball

Football is the exception because the super bowl its an event

  13. they need a salary cap – the dodgers are spending 450m$ a season – thats buying a chip. they have 2 make it like the nba, where you have 2 pay $3 for every $1 over the cap at a certaint amount. the only guys who think this is good are dodgers fans and bandwagon riders. ..
