Bad defense is one thing.
The miscommunications and guys not knowing where they are supposed to be at this point in the season is downright bizarre
I’m starting to question the coaching as well
At this point, I gotta admit, Niko Harrison was right.
100% Jake on this one. I have no clue what he was doing. Just completely confused. Smart points out the switch. There is a screen so it’s an obvious switch anyway.
But yeah, there were numerous of these communication and process errors in this game for other guys.
To be honest, one of the first big mismanagements I saw was from JJ in the first quarter. Bron usually comes at around the 6 minute mark or earlier. He had started pretty high energy and you could see him losing his legs possession by possession around that time. It was clear and obvious and JJ should’ve called a timeout. Rui was waiting to check in, but there was no break in action for about 2 more minutes. During that time, Bron was barely moving defensively and Charlotte started making shots and gaining a lot of confidence.
So, it starts with JJ. If I can see that live when watching the game on league pass, he needs to be able to recognize that as a coach earlier
I almost feel bad for superstar offensive players: somehow everything is expected from them.
now take the best defensive players in the league: are they getting constantly shat on for being bad on offense?

Unrelated but I really don’t get all the hate LaMelo gets. Surrounded with decent players, he delivers.
just find it so odd how little chemistry this team has on defense it’s like every quarter they look like a bunch of guys who barley met up that morning to play pickup ball
