1. I can’t help but think the pitching is the key yes we lost Bo but we had to do 49 comeback wins we were 6th in giving up home runs in the whole league we are better than last year I believe

2. What is this guy talking about? We did it all playoff long without Tucker and Bo. What are you talking about? This lineup is still nasty. Are you assuming the players won’t be the players and Anthony Santa door is a killer. He was hurt all last year. he’s a switch hitting Home run killer. Let’s be honest if you get the same production out of Clement and Addison Barger, we’re fine. We’re more than fine. This team whole pitching staff just got really good.

6. Dude, what are you talking about? Our offense is the reason why we made it to the World Series. And how is our offense going to be worse? We basically traded Bichette for Okomoto. Santander will also be healthy and ready to go. We are starting the season with Barger and Clement starting. Our offense should actually be better. We bolstered our pitching staff. Significantly. So after everything, we should be significantly better than 2025. I genuinely don’t understand you guys sometimes.

8. Tucker is NOT a loss. Tucker was a missed addition. Bichette is a loss.

   Overall, the team starting pitching is BETTER than the one last year. Full seasons from Bieber, Yessavage with new starting pitchers in Cease and Ponz.

   Offensively we have to hope Okamoto works out with Satander bouncing back.

9. Bo isn't exactly a physical specimen or a speed demon factor in his injuries the last few years he could be DHing sooner rather than later

20. It makes you wonder. Like say the RBI and run differential between Okamoto and Bo as hitters might be 50 runs in the season. But then with the improved defense up the middle from moving Ernie over, maybe that's a 20 run difference (more double plays, fewer passed balls, etc.). And with improved pitching and pitchers throwing for ground contact, maybe that ends up bringing the whole team against ERA down by what, 0.5 runs per game…that's 80 odd runs right there.

    Of course it then comes down to matching our scores, if we have great pitching and are only letting in 3 or 4 runs a game then hopefully we have enough offence to push above that. So maybe overall net runs we've improved. And from the stats you were showing, the pitching was our weakest link and Bo was the weakest infielder as well.

22. I'm not optimistic about the upcoming season. The bats haven't improved. the BP isn't anything to fear. The bad in-game decisions are a killer no matter how good the team. There will be highs and lows but with more lows.

26. The bullpen is not very impressive. They’ll be throwing 4 innings a game on a good day. I say we focus on the bullpen for the rest of the winter

27. I strongly believe with this lineup in terms of pitching that we can and will win 100+ games. We went to the WS without Bo and we won over 95 games I believe and with a better starting core and a better pen will be just fine so long as we give up less runs especially of the home run kind. Our bats will be loud and I believe Vladdy will hit over 30 and Barger will get mentioned in the all star talk. Springer will do well for us this year, not as well as last year but 25 hr. Varsho will also do very well as long as he’s healthy and he will be a Gold glove candidate. The infield is as solid as any in all the MLB. We will be just fine. Santander once healthy will contribute greatly, he has much to prove. Okamoto will be a stud and an onfield leader while Clement will be a pesky hitter but his glove will be his best asset. Kirk will hit well but he needs to trim down his body so he’s not a liability on the bases. Giminez needs to become better putting that ball in play and cashing in runs when available.

28. WAR is the first stat I start with. Then I go see why it's not as high/low as I thought it would be.

    It's why when I see that Barger had 1.2 WAR (down with Gimenez at the bottom of the lineups value) , it makes me wonder if he's actually the best trade piece that we have.

    The general consensus around here is that he's in the same league as 4-5 WAR players, but His stat comparisons are guys like Edmundo Sosa and Walner in Minnesota – not anyone you've ever heard of..

31. Two of the team's three best home run hitters were injured much of last season.
    Hopefully they will both be healthy in 2026.

    Okamoto will help the team on offense and defense.

    If Clement and Barger continue where they left off last year they're going to be great.

    And the Blue Jays succeeded in the last five or so games of the season
    to finish first and did well early in the playoffs without Tucker and Bichette.

    And their pitching situation is better than it was a year ago.

    And we're still not sure whether Blue Jays management is done
    or whether they will add another hitter or pitcher.

    It's even possible that they sign a star who has fallen out with the Yankees
    or trade for a closer or trade for a pitching ace that Detroit doesn't want to pay
    but even if these things don't happen the Jays are still as good or better
    than a year ago and should be favorites to finish first in the American League.

34. At one point last season Bo practically carried this team before he got hurt. It will be very interesting to see what happens without his offense

37. I think Josh Kasevich should get a shot with the Blue Jays!
    He's got a little power, but has the same tangibles like Ernie Clement .

    And yes I agree! Focus on contact hitting, less strikeouts, clutch hitting ! Home runs will come on their own!
