& before you start, just remember, we currently have a WR that wanted the ball, dropped them in big moments and hated his situation on his team when he played there. & it’s Paying dividends for us right now.

True, but lets not build an offense around it.
Fans always neglect the “buy in” aspect of team sports.
Diggs is having a great time here because he feels valued, respected and included.
I trust Vrabel with EVERY “malcontent” until there’s reason to believe he can’t do it.
Pass
How do you think he would fit in attitude wise? Can he do what Diggs has done? Be a true team player and get onboard with the Patriot way?
It really doesn’t matter if he requests a trade or not, Philly isn’t letting him go with the cap hit they would take.
He is not worth it.
A lot of people in this thread haven’t been around long enough to remember AJ Brown crying when the patriots skipped him to draft N’keal Harry. AJ Brown grew up a patriots fan and told the team in the interview he’s always wanted to play for them, but we didn’t take him. Brady may not have left if we get AJ instead, but nevertheless all the discourse in here sounds exactly like the Diggs discourse from last year.
And he’ll be great for a year and then the cycle repeats itself
it’s amazing how a random account made by a random guy on twitter gets a following of thousands of people through just the name and just repeating other people 1 min after they say it.
Guy won a Super Bowl and threw tantrums the very next season. What happens when the Patriots don’t give him the ball every play? Too much money for that risk. At a lower price with opt out options for the Patriots, sure. I’d say do a 1 year prove it contract and see how it goes.
The quoted tweet says “requested a trade” but not any specific team. Whichever random aggregator turned it into “asked to play for the Pats” is exaggerating the original report & treating speculation as confirmation.
This has not been reported from any reputable sources. Only that he asked to be traded.
Quit giving these people the clicks and views.. at this point they know you will eat up any shit with AJ Brown and Patriots.
Also pass.. even if Eagles do decide to trade him it’s going to be expensive.
I’m not a fan. I get that if he came here and bought in it’s a nice improvement but I’m not sure I’d want to be tied to him for several years if he’s gonna act up or decline with age. Maybe we get him and my mind is changed but currently I’d focus on pass rush and seeing what else pops up down the road
Ill take 1 alec pierce please.
He had an off year but he is really, really good. Two years ago he was maybe the second best receiver in the game. Putting him in this offense would be electric.
Gonna be wild when he joins the Superbowl Champion Pats in a few months
What they want for Devonta smith
I know we dont have household names aside from Diggs but AJ complained for the whole year while having more receptions than D. Smith… imagine the tantrum he throws when Boutte and Douglas are getting the ball instead of him
I’d love it but this post doesn’t mean anything lol
Keep an 👀 on Jeffrey Simmons… that dude is a HUGE Vrabel fan
i dont love this. Aj Browns yards of sepaeation has gone down 4 straight years and will be 29 by the start of the nfl season. hes never been the fastest and that will go down more. Combine that with the chunk of cap he will eat up and whatever it takes to get him its risky
not to say im completely against it but the price needs to be cheap
Was AJ being a diva back when he was on the titans? Or has it just been recently with the Eagles?
Albert Breer made a great point on Zolak & Bertrand’s Thursday show about how acquiring Brown isn’t beneficial for the Pats to have to trade picks for the same position, relative age, and talent level of Diggs.
🤷♂️
Would’ve been a heck of a lot smoother to, I dunno, just have fucking drafted him 😭😭
I rather draft a DE than trade away our first round pick.
Eagles gonna get that cap hit 🥊
Next year New England is gonna be a free agent/trade destination a lot of people are gonna want to go to.
Are we supposed to believe an account called nflrums?
Says who? A random account on twitter?
Lol. Not happening.
They get brown for next year it’s gonna be 2007 all over again.
He’ll play for the Pats, calling it now. I’d actually like to keep Diggs too, him and Diggs.
The entire world, “we know.”
No thank you!
WE ALL WE GOT WE ALL WE NEED
AJB is a bum, why would the Pats want him? To listen to him cry when he doesn’t get the ball, or post cryptic tweets when McDaniels spreads the ball around? He has a major attitude problem and would be a cancer to the locker room
Trade for Brown ~ OR ~ pay for Pickens??
Maye should be the start and the end to this conversation. He’s beyond his years in leadership but he’s still developing his voice- there isn’t a player alive who’s worth risking Maye’s growth. I’d rather have 5 receivers who understand their roles than one guy who’s only useful when he’s being targeted every play. It just makes me realize how lucky we were that Vrabel was able to recognize and bring out the leader in Diggs.
Breer said it best: We shouldn’t take on both AJ and Diggs. It’s a one or the other.
And at this point, we already have Diggs signed and don’t have to give up any draft capital to retain him. We’re still a team in rebuild and need depth, and will need these picks.
No thanks. Pass.
Assuming the price is right, fuck yeah. He’s an elite WR who is a lifelong Patriots fan and loved playing for Vrabel in Tennessee. His attitude issues stem from their shitty play calling and Hurts being a bum. Give him Maye & McDaniels and he’ll be right as rain.
The only way I’d be giving up a first for him would be for the pats to win the Super Bowl. 2nd or 3rd rounder and I would do it in a heartbeat.
Im good on this one tbh. If Diggs and co can get him on board maybe
Probably won’t happen, his contract makes him insanely hard to trade. It would mean the eagles take a 32 million dead money hit
As a Pats fan, I could see him going to Buffalo if they don’t win it all. Which is scary for everybody
If it doesn’t cost a ton in capital of it is a trade then yes. If they want a lot, I don’t know.
Give up high picks AND pay $26 million per year? Ah, no thanks. How about keep the picks and sign Linderbaum, the center from Baltimore and have money left over?
No thanks. Guy is a diva and choked in the playoffs.
1.) Well have to give up assets and salary cap
2.) Even if we traded for him, it COULD work out and he could be productive. He could also be a cancer and actually make the team worse.
