  1. At this point, just save the money and pray the Dodgers don't scoop up Skoobs. Then make him an offer he can't refuse next offseason, something so ludacris that even the Dodgers will be left scratching their heads. It's the way the game has gone, either you pony up or you get stuck with mediocrity.

  2. At this point it's quite pointless for the Jays front office to continue to go after top end free agents (hello Tucker, Ohtani, Soto et al.) As noble as our intentions are to sign these guys, we have no chance in hell of landing any of them as long as the top dogs the likes of LA and the two NY teams are around. They seemingly have UNLIMITED money to throw around. Our offer to Tucker although very competitive is no freaking where close to what the Dodgers were willing to pay him. ASk yourselves this question, if you're a top end FA, would you go the Jays for less money than the ridiculous offers from LA and/or the two NY teams? Yeah I don't think so. Having said all this as die hard Jays fans, we all can appreciate the effort of our owners to make our team as strong as possible.

  3. I've always thought Bellinger would be an ideal fit for the Jays. It would free the front office to trade Varsho, who I don't like, for a decent return. Yes, you give up some defence but add a bat that is 10X better. I'd do that deal in a heart beat

  4. Signing Bellinger would weaken the Yankees so that would be a benefit. However if they don't do anything I'm cool with rolling with what we have.

  5. Jiminez is not a good batter and is often a guaranteed out. Hard to justify him in the line up. Yes I’m aware that he’s a good fielder but hits are the main thing.

  6. I'd rather they spend and offer potential 600 million pitcher Skubal or those devil Dodgers steal him too!! Blue Jays need to wow them with money, not their advanced training facility. Money talks. Question is, can the Jays walk or they balk?

  7. Seems like market dynamics have shifted this year. We used to see long-term contracts above $300 million being favored and now we're seeing shorter term contracts with a higher AAV being valued. The Blue Jays mistook the market in offering Tucker a long-term deal and I would find it highly unlikely that the Blue Jays were Tucker's #2 option. I think given that of the 3 teams in on him, only two offered a short-term high AAV contract, that put the Jays in the distant #3 option for Tucker behind the Mets and Dodgers.

  8. I know some fans are disappointed with the departure of Bo and the non signing of Tucker but I believe this Jays roster is still a very formidable one and I expect them to be a strong contender to return to the WS final. Our starting pitching is one of the best in MLB and if Okamoto can live up to his reputation and Santander regains his form this team will continue to do well offensively. Can't wait to see this team return to the playing field.

  9. Im sure likes and views turn into dollars $$$ but man, you need to adjust your methods. I know youre re-reporting MLB news, but you play on people's strings with how you push news out.

  10. Yankees want a 5 year, Bellinger wants a 7 year… Jays should offer him a 6 year 205 million dollar contract—with an opt out after year 3… 40M- 35M- 35M —- 35M- 30M-30M with a $30 million dollar signing bonus..thus stealing from NY what strengthens Jays!
